Jupiter-8 2/50 from the camera 'Electronics L-50'

Jupiter-8 2/50 from this review is a lens from the Electronics L-50 camera. The lens has a specific mount on the camera.

This Jupiter-8 2/50 has a short working length, so it will not work to focus on infinity on the ZK. I bought this lens at a flea market for 25 UAH ($ 3). Optically this is the same Jupiter-8 2/50, but without the frame of the case, without the ability to focus and without aperture device.

The lens, near the front lens, has a 42mm thread, and with the help of ordinary M42 extension rings and an M42-'required bayonet' adapter, the lens can be mounted on a modern CZK. Thus, the lens helicoid will be recessed into the macro ring, and the macro ring itself will act as the lens 'body'. If you take a short ring, then the rear lens of the objective will touch the CZK mirror. If you take a long ring, you can only shoot macro. I used a 1.5 cm ring, but I did not put it on the thread, but attached it with tape wound on the helicoid.

Focusing distance with my jupiter-8 2/50 and Canon 350D was about 50-60 cm, this is quite enough for shooting small objects. In this design, focusing is carried out by approaching / moving the camera away from the subject. The lens can be used on a full-frame CZK, but on my Nikon D700 this design interferes with the mirror and I did not redo it to get a photo in full frame.

The lens creates a very nice soft picture. The photos have been modified since the original image has a low contrast.

Thank you Arkady for your efforts and crazy hands, there is something magical in these photos.

    Interesting review, colorful photos!
Jupiter-8 in my arsenal is one of my favorite lenses.
I shoot them both on the number and on the film. Live volumetric picture. Here already draws so draws.

  • anonym

    not impressed.

    • Vasil

Yakі mi vibaglivі i illiteracy (:

  • Romih

And I didn’t like it, it’s some kind of opaque soap

    • Novel

Soap goes away as soon as contrast appears. And to raise the contrast now is a trifling matter. It is with such lenses that, with good processing, photos are obtained for the soul. 2nd and 4th are generally amazing.

      • Boris Badenov

If there are no details on the picture initially, then you won’t add them to any increase in contrast. Soap, as it was, will remain.

        • Arkady Shapoval

Details are not always important, especially since this lens in no way claims to be something.

  • Sergei

Arkady, do not tell me on which flea market you get such lenses?

    • Sergei

I'm sorry to interfere, but as far as I know on slando.ua
I myself take the old Soviet manual optics there)

    • Igor

If in Kiev, then a flea market on which you can purchase several photographic equipment:
      1. Every weekend near the book market on Petrovka metro station (a large flea market with everything in a row including photographic equipment, there’s not much of it therefore you need to look for and arrive from 9-10 in the morning)
      2. Every Sunday on Nyvky metro station (coins, photo equipment weapons)
      3. Every last Saturday of the month in the exhibition center on metro Levoberezhnaya rally of collectors (generally every Saturday, last Saturday of the month there are more goods)

If on the Internet, then I like the largest Aukro, Slando, Aukro - sellers have a reputation and many value it, which means there is less chance that a broken / non-working copy will be slipped

      • Dmitro

-> sellers have a reputation and many value it
Reputation? On the internet for auctions? In the Internet flea market there is no possibility of the presence of the seller due to the reputation and reputation of the seller :). Yaka, the difference in whom I am bathing ric - in the seller with the "reputation" (how to put the sales of speeches on the good and such a rank earns the reputation), why in the people who were first registered on that one? Quite often the very "sellers on the potots" (for the maystri buy cheaper and sell more expensive) is unavoidably placed before selling :) - May singing will complete the match from decilcom :)
        I'm swaying for offtop
And before that specific object - so, low-contrast and afraid of exposure, ALE is a kind of artistic! The photographs look very similar to the pictures, as I do not respect the details.

On Saturday-Sunday on Petrovka near the station "Zenith" they are full. Flea market in general)
Landmark - a man near an old red car, a Citroen in my opinion))))

Good day, Arkady. 4 ob'yktivi: i-61, i-69, helios44m-4 and yupiter-12 were lying in my office. i-69, i-61, helios44m-4 I wished to add to nikon, but from jupiter-12 there is a problem, please, if you are interested in thinking, maybe the picture is no worse? i-69, i-61 only yak macro chi i-69 can be more? I feed so yak not all ob'єktivi know-how in the reviews.

Who are you holding everyone here for? I have this lens and cannot achieve such sharpness from it!

      • Burba

Your hands are simply not out of your shoulders, you can also screw macro rings onto this lens, a little patience and voila. Yes sobsno and this picture does not shine with sharpness
