Auto mamiya / sekor 1 review: 1,4 f = 55mm

Many thanks to Vladimir Korogodin for the opportunity to review the Auto mamiya / sekor 1: 1,4 f = 55mm lens sent I have a lens from another area.

Review Auto mamiya / sekor 1: 1,4 f = 55mm. Lens on a Canon 350D.

Review Auto mamiya / sekor 1: 1,4 f = 55mm. Lens on Canon 350D.

Auto mamiya / sekor 1: 1,4 f = 55mm is another legendary Japanese lens. Almost fifty dollars, its 55 mm focal length is not very noticeable, compared with the usual 50 mm. But I observe a situation that even the added 5 mm focal lengths play a role in the price per lens. Auto mamiya / sekor 1: 1,4 f = 55mm is now quite expensive, not everyone can afford such a luxury, but it's worth it - the lens is very good in all other respects.

Front lens enlightenment

Front lens enlightenment

The lens is solidly made, the focus ring is metallic, like the rest of the lens body. The lens is heavy, the diameter of the front filter is 55 mm. When focusing, the front lens does not rotate, the focus ring goes 270 degrees, MDF is 45 cm. It's a pity, but the lens has only 6 black aperture blades and such a legendary lens gives ordinary nuts in the blur zone (example) The lens has a blinking aperture device and a 'M <-> A' switch to select its mode of operation.

Sample Photos

Sample photos taken with Canon 350D and adapter M42-Canon without chip. On the Canon APS-C 1.6X crop, the EFR of the lens is 88 mm, you can easily take portraits with the lens. At f / 1.4, getting into sharpness is very difficult. The lens itself is sharp and contrasting.

How to use with modern cameras?

Lenses with M42 mounting thread (M42 X 1 / 45.5), such as the lens from this review, are very easy to use on almost any modern digital camera (both SLR and mirrorless), for this it is enough to choose the right adapter (adapter). Personal experience

For several days in a row I used two lenses with excellent bokeh, Auto mamiya / secor 1: 1,4 f = 55mm and Asahi OPT. CO., SMC Takumar 1: 1.4 / 50 MFI liked Takumar's drawing more. An attentive reader noticed that one of the three pictures in the header of my blog (the top header that is changing) is just Auto mamiya / secor 1: 1,4 f = 55mm.

In the comments, you can ask a question on the topic and they will answer you, as well as you can express your opinion or describe your experience. For the selection of photographic equipment, I recommend large catalogs, for example E-Catalog. Many little things for the photo can be found on AliExpress.

Conclusions:

Auto mamiya / sekor 1: 1,4 f = 55mm - a very good Japanese fast-moving fifty dollars. I want to highlight the excellent build and excellent lens design. You can find many similar lenses, for example, Auto Sears 1: 1.4 f = 55mm.
