Nikon D600 review

For the opportunity Nikon D600 body review many thanks to Ivan Berdnik.

Nikon D600 review

Nikon D600 review

Nikon D600 is the first full-length amateur Nikon digital SLR camera. Prior to this, all full-frame CZK belonged only to a professional level. Nikon D600 is 'Full Frame to the Masses!'. The difference between the size of the matrix for type cameras APS-C Nikon DX and the size of the matrix for type cameras APS Nikon FXwhich the Nikon D600 belongs to is approximately 2.25 times. And believe me, in many cases matrix size really matters. True, a full-format camera requires only Fx lenses.

This is how the Nikon D600 camera looks from different sides without a lens (body) and with a lens (kit)

This is how the Nikon D600 camera looks from different sides without a lens (body) and with a lens 24-85 (kit)

The Nikon D600 has a 24,3MP sensor. This is a good indicator for a full-frame camera, I believe that about 20MP for full-frame cameras is quite enough for almost any photo task, and for those who need to print posters there are monsters. Nikon D800, Nikon D800E and digital backs. If you are a miser and count all the pixels in the resulting image from the Nikon D600, then you can count 24.160.256 pixels, which allows you to reproduce a photo of 6016 by 4016 pixels.

In the spring of 2013, Nikon already has 5 cameras with 24MP and two cameras with 36MP.

Before the release of the D600, only the Nikon D24x had a full-frame 3MP sensor, which, by the way, is already damn old, but the price of which does not fall at all. For me, the number of megapixels is practically not important. Personally, I’m even offended that manufacturers are increasing their number, and the noise level at high ISOs remains practically unchanged. Megapixels are not always as good as marketers assure, you can read more details in the section Battle of Megapixels.

Nikon D600 can work on ISO 100 to 6400 units and expand the value to Lo1 (equivalent ISO 50.) and up to Hi2 (equivalent ISO 25.600.) Here is the original example on ISO 6400 (noise reduction function is on). It's a sin to complain about the performance of the Nikon D600 at high ISO. The D600 has a lower level and a slightly different type of noise than my old lady Nikon D700.

Example photo on Nikon D600

Example photo on Nikon D600

With noise levels at high ISOs, the Nikon D600 is fine. True sorry that the Nikon D600, D800 and D800E have an ISO 6400 ceiling, older cameras could work at this value Nikon D700 и D3... It turns out that the pixels were added to the new cameras, but the ISO was forgotten. Only two models remain more efficient cameras in terms of high ISO for 2013 - Nikon D3s и D4that have a ceiling of ISO 12.800.

Nikon D600 uses the updated Nikon Multi-CAM 4800 focus sensor, this is an upgraded Nikon Multi-CAM 4800DX sensor, which can be found in Nikon D7000 и D5200. The camera uses 39 focus points, 9 of which are cruciforms. Unlike Nikon D7000 The new D600 can work with lenses with aperture up to F / 8.0. In practice, this means that the Nikon D600 focuses better in poor lighting conditions than D7000, D5200. I really don't like small viewfinder coverage with focus points. All the focus points of the Nikon D600 are in the center, which is not surprising, because here is just a modified focus system from a cropped camera. You can see more details about focus modules and their comparison here.

Many users have a choice between three Nikon D600 cameras, D700, D800 (E), such a plate may clarify the choice a bit:

For myself, I see no reason to switch from Nikon D700 on Nikon D600. Some may need video in the D600 and slightly more RAW processing due to better DD and lower noise. If the choice is the first full-frame camera, then, in my opinion, the D600 is an excellent option. When it comes to dynamic range, color depth, etc. in modern full-length cameras, I advise you to look here.

Despite the fact that the Nikon D600 camera has as much as 24 MP, with any RAW quality setting frame buffer, puts 15 frames in FX mode, 22 frames in DX mode. If you shoot in JPEG and turn off all the additional functions of software image enhancement, then 28 JPEG L frames in FX mode and 46 frames in DX mode are placed in the buffer. The buffer readings are just great for an amateur camera. The only negative is the inability to use a RAW file without compression. RAW is available with 12 or 14 bit color depth and with conventional or lossless compression.

The maximum shooting speed in any mode (with and without a booster) is 5.5 frames per second. This is enough for any type of shooting, it may not be enough for reporting, but the D600 is not a reporting camera.

The Nikon D600 has a nice viewfinder with 100% lens field of view and 0.7x magnification. It was pleasant enough for me to work with such a viewfinder, it is much more for the 'peephole' of amateur cameras like Nikon D3200, D40. In general, it is very pleasant to work with the camera. Settings and buttons are not very different from Nikon D7000. Dealing with the camera is not difficult.

Nikon D600 has a built-in focus motor, you can use any lens without a focus motor, for example, such inexpensive legendary lenses as Nikon 85mm F1.8D AF Nikkor и Nikon 70-210 F4 Nikkor.

From the pleasant moments in the Nikon D600:

  1. Measurement exposure performed using 2016 pixel like u D7000, D7100, D5200. About measurement exposure can read here.
  2. Function auto ISO works very well, the camera can automatically adjust the desired shutter speed depending on the installed lens.
  3. Two locks on the camera control wheel. This is very convenient, it really helps to avoid accidentally changing the shooting mode. I really missed such a thing on my old Nikon D90.
  4. Full HD video 1.920 x 1.080 30p, recorded in MOV format with the H.264 codec. Attention, sound recording is performed using a monaural microphone. You can buy an external stereo microphone for the camera. Video has a common problem with auto focus quality. Also, the Nikon D600 is not able to control the aperture value when shooting video. If full control over all the parameters when shooting movies is important, then you will have to look to the side Nikon D800.
  5. Support for older lenses AI-S type and any other lenses that can only be mounted on the camera.
  6. Two memory card slots SD (SDHC, SDXC, UHS-I). You can set up various methods of working with cards as your heart desires.
  7. System for cleaning the matrix from dust.
  8. Nikon D600 supports remote control of external flash units. I am a big fan of the system Nikon CLS
  9. Of course, the Nikon D600 supports high-speed 'FP' sync with external flash units. By the way, if you are looking for an extra flash, here my recommendations.
  10. A large 3.2-inch display, however, recently the number of dots in the new Nikon cameras has not changed and remains equal to 921,000. The display is the same as Nikon D800,D800E, D4.
  11. The case is half made of magnesium alloy, very similar to the case Nikon D7000.
  12. The camera has an additional monochrome display with which it is very convenient to control the camera and change the basic settings.
  13. USB, HDMI, Microphone in, 3.5mm headphone jack
  14. Battery EN-EL15, same as Nikon D7000, D7100, D800, D800E. Holds a charge well.
  15. Programmable buttons U1 and U2, which can be configured for different tasks.
  16. The camera supports automatic vignetting correction.
  17. Electronic level.
  18. Active D-lighting, bracketing exposure, ADL bracketing, bracketing white balance and HDR function
  19. Fine tune focus

What I did not like:

  • The center button is not programmable for instant zoom. After Nikon D700 Without this feature, I’m extremely uncomfortable working with the Nikon D600. It seemed a trifle, but it seriously ruined my nerves.
  • Not the entire body is made of an alloy of metals. The front part is made of polycarbonate.
  • Minimum excerpt 1/4000 s shutter Many inflate with '1/4000s' great trouble. But it’s not so scary, for example, Nikon D600 can dose using ISO 50 (Lo 1) and 1/4000 seconds as much light as Nikon D3S at ISO 100 (Lo 1) and 1/8000 seconds. By the way D1H can work with shutter speed in 1 / 16.000 seconds:).
  • When shooting video, you cannot control the aperture value. So far only Nikon D4, D800, D800E can afford full control when shooting video.

Personal experience
Nikon D600 is not so small and light as many people write about it. The camera is much larger than crumbs like D5100 or D3200. In general, the Nikon D600 is an excellent amateur camera, it is a pity that the Nikon D600 does not use 51 focus points as on older Nikon cameras, it is also a pity that not all of the camera body is made of metal alloy. But, of course, for that kind of money just cannot get a copy Nikon D4 in the housing from Nikon D7000 :). And Nikon added fuel to the fire, which covers a person’s head when choosing a camera. To new Nikon D7100 installed the updated module at 51 focus points, now many will puzzle over what to buy - Nikon D7100 or Nikon D600. I am often asked to indicate approximate prices for a particular photo equipment, Nikon D600 is still the cheapest Nikon full-format CZK:

All Nikon D600 Body prices

Example on Nikon D600

Example on Nikon D600

By the way, I personally wonder what is better when working with poor lighting, the updated focus module on the Nikon D600 or the good old module on Nikon D700, D3, D3s, D300, D300s. Personally, I am more inclined to the latter. During the time that I had the D600, I did not feel any serious differences in focusing accuracy when working with high-aperture optics. You can leave your ideas in the comments.

A popular resource for comparing cameras snapsort gave the Nikon D600 the maximum number of points - 100 out of 100. Attention: they say that the Nikon D600 has serious problems with the contamination of the matrix (video problem review) Most likely for this reason, on October 8.10.2013, XNUMX, Nikon released a new camera. Nikon D610 to replace the D600, in order to remove the poor reputation of the latter due to problems with the contamination of the matrix.

  • Alexander

Indeed, Nikon does not understand the policy on full-frame cameras, apparently they deliberately create all kinds of restrictions (Anatoly is one hundred percent right), now there is a clear tendency for cameras of different levels from Nikon and Canon. While Canon's non-full-frame cameras (mainly due to a smaller sensor) are worse than Nikon's, Canon's full-frame cameras (5Dmark) are definitely better than Nikon's (D600, D800). As was the custom from the very beginning, both camera manufacturers and phone manufacturers, and many others, too, to release new models in which artificial deterioration of parameters again takes place, which in the next model can be slightly improved, although everything has long been developed and could to be applied to the maximum. There is a policy that is beneficial only to the manufacturer, which forces the user to live with the toad all the time, knowing that in the next model they will add what he needed in the one he already has…. In a word, these two griefs got bored - a competitor in photography ... And they will all the time milk the users of their equipment with such tricks, and when everything is already solved to the maximum, I think they will simply start to programmatically limit the operating time of cameras (in other words, to break more often ...) For example, Sony has the same policy, they decided to globally change their photographic systems by inventing a fixed mirror. But this only led to a deterioration in the quality, and if you remove the mirror, the quality increases dramatically ... well, the D600 is just a mockery of people, complete bullshit, the 5D mark (the first) has the best image quality, not to mention 5DMark3 ... Nikon has it natural mowing of money, nothing else ... New cameras come out, but there are no improvements in them, although there are little things that could have long been implemented in all cameras, for example Quick LiweView (like Sony A580) or ultrasonic sensor cleaning like Olympus E- 520 (by the way, the most efficient of all there is!). I once had an E-520 and I changed optics both in the steppe and in the forest, and thanks to such cleaning, there was never dust on the matrix, but now I have a D7000 and I never change optics on the street and there is still dust (before light bulbs, this is their cleaning). And therefore, once a year in Moscow, you have to hand over the camera for cleaning (again, pay money for this). In a word, now, in order for you to have a camera with a set of necessary functions, you need to have three or even four cameras from different manufacturers at once, but to add all these qualities in one camera, then either no one is smart or that, most likely, this is done on purpose, forcing a person to
time to spend money on new models. And this outrage of manufacturers apparently never
will end ... All of them have long understood how to milk customers regularly. In the days of film cameras, there was no such chaos, the camera could be used for more than one decade, but optics is another matter ...

“Well, the D600 is just a mockery of people, complete bullshit, the 5D mark (first) has the best picture quality ...”
go down from heaven to earth.
"... full frame is definitely better with Canon (5Dmark) than Nikon (D600, D800) ..."
complete nonsense! at low iso (up to iso800) 5d3 in the distant past in the sense of the dynamic range. shadows and overexposure from it stretch significantly worse than from d800. Well, in terms of color sensitivity, he loses to the old d700.
yes, 5d3 is good at high ISO and in video. but to say that “full-frame is definitely better at Canon” can only be paid for.

The difference in the increase in DD in new cameras from 12 to 15 only due to Mp was almost never seen on paper or on the monitor. These marketing numbers are invested in your brains through advertising just because they have nothing more to offer besides the irresponsible megapixels. Housewife shooting an advanced soap box in HDR to leave CZK far behind.
Roman, in the 600ke marketUlogs, no matter how engineers, deliberately made the AA filter thick, even thicker than 700ke, guess the first time - why?

    • Nicola

don't bring nonsense! here is the actual comparison of canon 5d and d600:

      http://alexey-soloviev.livejournal.com/17904.html
and therefore, if there is enough money for the d600 or 5d mark 2, the choice is clear!

  • Oleg

Alexander, you speak as if you are offended by Nikon. As I understand you are a professional, then take cameras from the top line or the tops of other brands, and leave the D600 to us, ordinary photo enthusiasts, who, for a moderately small amount of money, a camera allowed them to experience the advantages of a full frame. Many of the web users will confirm my words, but before that we used both the d40 and the d3000, and there are those who just immediately took the full-frame d600 after the soap dish. And believe me - they do not regret it.

  • Valery Kasyak

A LOT OF SAID AND WRITTEN BAD AND GOOD, NIKON 600 IS SUPER.

  • aidyn

    Trolls Canonists, go ahead!

Oleg, I agree with you completely!

    • Anatoly

Why canonists, I am a devotee of Nikon and shoot on Nikon.
But the trouble is, recently Nikon has noticeably slowed down in relation to a serious photographer, got stuck somewhere on the progress path, revolves around photo shooters, even came up with a FF in the form of 600k for them.
Do not be discouraged, a good 600ka camera, marketers are people too and want to live well at someone’s expense.

      • Arkady Shapoval

Note that the 600 is a hobby camera. I constantly focus on this, but many continue to expect something else from the 600, and not finding it, they are disappointed. What can you expect from a hobby camera for the serious photographer?

        • Anatoly

Arkady, I understand everything, but that's why the 600ku were forcibly castrated, even at the software level, forcibly limiting the shutter speed. What lovers of 1 / 8000s do not need?
It would be understood if Nikon said in a press release 600ki, here we have developed a new shutter for an amateur camera, albeit 1/4000 sec., As if for fans of this, that's enough, but 300 thousand. positives, well, or let's say substantially cheaper, which cheapens the camera by an order of magnitude.
Yes, and the release of each new model is so classified as if it were a new fighter with a super TTD, and as a result, the consumer receives everything that has long been conceived and borrowed from different models.

          • Arkady Shapoval

This is unknown to me and not interesting, many do not like 1/4000 s in d600 - this is a fact, but there are other cameras with 1/8000 s. As I wrote in the review, I personally do not see anything wrong with this. I have a few good shots taken at 1 / 8000s. I understand that the difference between 1 / 4000s and 1 / 8000s is a whole stop. How many such shots do you have? It is absolutely irrational to search in an amateur camera, prof. options. In general, I even support some restrictions of 600, there should be a clear division by levels, otherwise every schoolchild will indulge in q4, which will bring the whole photo to zero anyway. They put 150.000 in the cell - isn't that enough? I repeat again, the amateur camera is an amateur restriction.

        • Oleg

I agree, I did not expect that the camera will have a “masterpiece” button, but as a tool for further development of photography skills after the cropped and very simple Nikon d3000 - the d600 camera is an ideal solution.

        • Nikolai N

You are absolutely right, everyone wants to get everything, but this cannot be, since there are many and only a few). And changing the brand as I think is the last thing, as a 5m3 carcass even at a discount costs like 800ka with a staffer. Then let's compare d4 and m3 despite the fact that 98% of the local audience is only spectators and writers) and GOOD cameras that they canon and Nikon only dream of. but it’s better if you read your review and give your comments from personal experience) As I have already noted, please create a registration))) I’ll be the first to register, maybe even then there will be fewer flooders))) IMHO, marketers work for sales, they need to sell the product, but having sold two 800s they will receive a sold d4 so sales grow and everyone is happy)))
I would like to appeal to everyone who writes negative about Nikon, and not personal experience with this camera) with all due respect to all fans and the author of the site.
CITIZENS DON'T BELIEVE MARKETOLOGISTS AND PEOPLE FUCKING A MARK, THEY ARE FLOODERS, NIKON HAS A FULL FULL CAMERA LIKE CANON. EVERYTHING DEPENDS ON THE HANDS AND FINANCIAL WELL-BEING. READ THE REVIEWS SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES, DO NOT HIT MARKETERS, (THEY DO THEIR WORK), DO NOT HIT THE BRAND, IT IS POSSIBLE AND ON A MILL TO MAKE A MASTERPIECE AND WITH D4 GET A COOK .... THANKS TO THE AUTHOR FOR THE REVIEW THERE WILL BE D600. I WILL TAKE IT FROM HAND AND ALREADY ITS ELECTROWARD (SUPER CAMERA) after cropping the sky and the ground

From a serious photographer you can expect from any camera, FX, DX, it does not matter.
I think you need to argue and prove less, and practice and enjoy life more.

P.S. Arkady, we are waiting for you to review the D7100, the second news.
Is there any official information that the filter on the 600-ke is increased?

    • Arkady Shapoval

From a photographer - yes, it is useless to demand from an amateur camera what serious photographers want to see in it. Don't twist my words.

    • Oleg

      Support completely!

  • R'RёS,R ° F "RёR№

Any camera is needed for taking pictures, but the D600 has very good ones, this is a reality. Another question is that far from everything was done for convenience, but then no one bought D4.

  • Nazar

    dyaky for looking

  • Evgeny Petrovich

Arkady, tell us more about RAW (nef) compression, on the official website I did not find any differences in the description of the quality of the pictures, I looked at the RAW parameters. Maybe I don’t understand something, but in the comparison table you have an indication that there is no compression in the D700 D800e, but there is one (in the D600).

  • Natasha

Arkady, weren't you mistaken about 2,25? "The difference between the sensor size of the APS-C Nikon DX cameras and the sensor size of the APS Nikon FX cameras, which includes the Nikon D600, is approximately 2.25 times." Probably 1,5 times?

    • anonym

2,25 - the difference in the areas of the matrices.
1,5 - difference between matrix diagonals.

    • Arkady Shapoval

I was not mistaken. Many people think that because of the 1.5x crop factor, the size is also different in 1.5x. But 1.5 is a linear ratio of the diagonals. The area ratio is equal to the square of the linear ratio, that is, 1,5 * 1,5 = 2,25. Marketers do not use the number 2.25 to sell more crops, as if they are not only two and a half times different from FF, but only one and a half times.

  • Eugene

And now, oh horror, I found 4 dark rather small circles at the left edge of the frame. I can’t convey my condition. You know how black dots are on the fluorogram of a tuberculosis. Shock.
Sorry for the question, but: what should I do?

    • R'RёS,R ° F "RёR№

If they don’t interfere, then if in the pictures they strongly influence cleaning, I cleaned myself, a wet mop, the method and materials are in nete, that's okay;)

  • Vladimir

    Hello everybody.
The painful question is asking, what is it to buy 7100 or 600?
I will be grateful for komenty and probably not just me)

    • Arkady Shapoval

Complex issue. For the money you ask for for the d600 or d7100, you can take a used one. d700 and grief not to know.

      • anonym

Golden words, Arkady! I advise everyone to pay attention! Professional camera, professional and only professional, comfortable, thoughtful, etc. etc. Used D700, even used D300 (s) - money will definitely not be wasted! Try it and feel the difference, just feel it! Amateur cameras are "deformed" pros. In general, when we choose within the framework of one brand, we think very narrowly, cameras (Made in Japan), beautiful cameras, are not so few.

    • anonym

      Definitely a D600!

  • anonym

After weighing a lot of what was written, plus my experience, I came to the conclusion that it is necessary to take professional equipment (go to the Nikon website there everything is laid out on the shelves), “amateur” cameras are blunt pros, mopeds with pedals, in other words, do not go and do not spin the pedals to a pleasant speed :))))))))

  • Sergei

To be honest, with all due respect to you - write nonsense, Arkady ...
D600 is the best today that you can even imagine for that kind of money.
This is the smallest and lightest full-frame camera, you probably shouldn't have compared it to the little CROPS.
Check out http://www.dxomark.com/ and do a comparative test of the sensors (D700, D800, D600,5D Mark3), questions about the BEST at the price / quality will disappear by themselves.
By the way, about the number of autofocus points is also nonsense .. 39 points are enough for cameras with interest, any canonist will tell you this;)
<Also, the display of the camera in poor lighting renders colors strangely; on a computer, colors look completely different.
    - For this, there are settings for the camera display itself, actually ...
<The only drawback is the inability to use RAW file without compression
-Yes, what are you talking about ... Maybe you should first learn the mat. Part?
Buy Nikon D7100 only for those who are tired of "toys" such as Nikon D5200 and other "female DSLRs" or in general for those who have decided to seriously take up photography. Who grew up on Nikon D90 (D80) or Nikon D300 (200) take Nikon D600! Aside the Nikon D800, I advise you to look at the people who will shoot in the studio, buying the Nikon D800E is only worthwhile for photographers who mainly work in the black and white segment of photography.
I myself am the proud owner of the Nikon D600 (I managed to work with Nikon D90, D300s, D7000, D700, D800), which I also wish you.

    • Arkady Shapoval

I expressed my opinion in the comments. I did not compare it with crop, the plates are 700tka and 800tka. Be more careful. The same dxomark.com sample I have here https://radojuva.com.ua/2012/12/best-nikon-fx-camera-quality/... I did not write that 39 points are not enough, I wrote about their accuracy - be even more careful. I wrote for the display as it is. Regarding RAW files - everything is exactly like that, only reaped raw and do not rush about the materiel.

      • Sergei

        <Personal experience
Nikon D600 is not so small and light as many people write about it. The camera is much larger than crumbs like the D5100 or D3200.
-That's your words ... Nikon positions it as the smallest camera with a full-frame matrix, so comparing it with the little ones from the DX series does not make sense.
RAW in the camera is normal, do not mislead people. It's just that everything superfluous is removed from the photo data, which does not affect the process of post-processing the photo. And this is just a virtue, not a disadvantage.
For the display, I write as practice shows me when working with this camera. Disable automatic screen brightness adjustment in the camera, adjust the display brightness for yourself and you will be happy ...
I didn’t want to offend you, I just own this camera and many questions are familiar to me.

        • Oleg

Sergey, please write about the personal experience of using this camera, which lenses do you use? Himself a week since I purchased this model. Regards, Oleg.

          • Sergei

Oleg, one of the nice features of this camera is that on it you can use the lenses originally made for crop. In this case, the camera will automatically (if correctly configured in the menu) select the area in the video finder for the DX lens. This area is 10.5 megapixels.
As for my lenses, my favorite on a full frame was and remains the Nikon 24-85mm f / 2.8-4D IF AF Zoom-Nikkor due to its versatility, correct color reproduction, three-dimensional drawing, beautiful bokeh and good construction, whatever it is. we all wrote our beloved Ken ... On the D600 this lens perfectly revealed all its advantages. Before that, I used a Nikon 24-70mm f / 2.8G ED AF-S Nikkor. After a trip to Africa, I sold it ...
            I use Nikon 85mm f / 1.8G AF-S for portraits. Great portrait!
If you want to shoot with longer focal lengths, I advise you to pay attention to Tamron SP AF 70-300mm f4.0-5.6 Di VC USD It has excellent optical characteristics, an integrated image stabilizer and a low cost.
I really love fixes, but I use them strictly for specific tasks ... For everything else, there are excellent optics, which I advised you. I also advise you to carefully choose your glasses. Remember that checking the optical properties of a lens doesn't end with just checking the back / front focus!
PS My opinion may differ from the opinion of others ...

        • Arkady Shapoval

I understand, and I’m not offended. Here we are trying to find the most effective option for investing money. I compared the dimensions, not the camera as a whole. The owner of this camera from this review in the comments wrote that the menu heals this ailment, I also changed in the review :)

        • Oleg

Thanks for answering a personal question and review.

I will dilute your hot discussion with my question ...
the situation is as follows - at the moment? I am the owner of a nikon d90 (excellent device) + tamron 17-50 and nikkor 50 1 / 4d (I am engaged in photography as a lover of this business and for commercial purposes), no matter what, but something is missing in development (the same narrow the frames of the same fifty dollars on the crop do not allow to straighten your shoulders and in many cases you just have to give it up and take off it with a tamron) ... I started to collect some money for the 85mm 1.4 lens (the background is more interesting, more picturesque), almost collecting, I began to doubt (this is still already) and fell tips - (buy yourself a full frame) ... finances are such that at the moment the d600 lacks a couple of thousand ... considering options 1) since it is difficult to part with the d90, which has only 40 thousand mileage, I want to leave it second and use it with a tamron for versatility and a wide angle (since sometimes you have to shoot in clubs that d600 there, it's not worth it), and put your fifty dollar on the d600, eventually buy 85 1.8 ... 2) even more time to collect on a more serious d800 and again fifty dollars in beginning and e further 85mm ... 3) or still buy a good lens and put it on d90 ... 4) your option))
... sorry for straining you to read your nonsense, but I will be very grateful for the advice
    and I will also be grateful for a couple of examples in a bunch of d600 + 50 1 / 4d .. if anyone has such ...

    • Oleg

Good day! Indeed, the question is difficult, especially if you know how to count money. In my opinion, we should take the d600, since the optics park will allow using it at least d90. I have d600, one of these days a fifty-ruble 1.4 will arrive, I will definitely present an example. With the d600 the crop 35 / 1.8 has revived)), there is ventilation, but it is easily corrected in the LR By the way, in the chamber itself you can also stifle the ventilation with 3 levels (the ventilation zones are highlighted on the matrix). I thought 35 would not go up to 600, luckily I was wrong! Therefore, with regards to your question - buy a d600 to have a full frame in the arsenal of photographic equipment, without bothering with 800, and bribe with time a professional optician. Successful shots and interesting shooting orders!

But why suddenly an amateur camera? then d800, by comparison with d4, is also amateur. And the price is not quite amateur

  • PERETS

well, this division comes from the company NIKON itself ... d600 completes the line of amateur, but d800 .. d4 is a pro ... but at the expense of the price I quite agree, maybe over the hill it is budgetary, but for us it is n the number of budgets ...

  • Eugene

Who will tell you where in Kiev the most sane service center certified to serve Nikon products?

    • Arkady Shapoval

      Lukyanivka, Khokhlov family

      • Eugene

Thanks. In addition to RAVIS, he especially did not know anything. Judging by how the phone was repaired in RAVIS, it’s scary to take a camera there.

  • Ivan

Hello, Arkady. Thanks so much for the review. A d600 carcass costs about 60 thousand rubles, a d700 (at online auctions or just with it) - about the same. What do you advise? The new obscure amateur d600 or the used proven professional d700?

    • anonym

Take the Pentax K-5 II and don’t endure your brain .... Incomprehensible amateur ...

      • Ivan

Forgive me for having delivered your brain without even addressing you and knowing you without knowing it.

      • anonym

The choice is between full-frame cameras, and not about crop speech.

      • Ivan

"All focus points are in the center ... because here is just a modified focusing system from a cropped camera."
        unclear
“… This is Nikon's first full format consumer DSLR camera. Before that, all full-frame CDCs belonged only to the professional level ”
        amateur
“For myself, I see no reason to switch from Nikon D700 to Nikon D600”
        unclear
"Nikon D600 is a great amateur camera, it's a shame that the Nikon D600 doesn't use 51 focus points like Nikon's older cameras, it's also a shame that not the entire camera body is made of metal alloy."
By the way, I personally wonder what is better when working with poor lighting, the updated focusing module on the Nikon D600 or the good old module on the Nikon D700, D3, D3s, D300, D300s. Personally, I tend to lean more towards the latter. During the time that I had the D600, I did not feel any serious differences in focusing accuracy when working with high-aperture optics ”
        obscurely amateur

If you do not like the phrase "incomprehensible amateur," you can say: "circumcised," "trimmed," "limited." This is meant, not that the d600 is bad. If this phrase hurts you personally, then I do not render psychological help. If in the middle of a conversation they begin to tone me up, then it’s definitely not my fault or my misfortune.

        • Victor

Nobody was going to raise your tone here :))
They want to help you. The Pentax K-5 II is a professional DSLR camera, albeit on a crop, as Pentax itself positions it.
Nikon D600 is made for a wide range of users, from advanced amateurs to seasoned pros. I know many examples when the pros started selling their obsolete carcasses and switching to this incomprehensible amateur DSLR. Do not cling to the word "amateur", in Nikon's subtext it means "for the broad masses." And remember that the professionalism of a photographer largely depends on direct hands. By the way, for thinking about the difficult choice of a camera;) http://dvdm.livejournal.com/325473.html

  • Oleg

Anonymous +100500 !!!))) What kind of Ivan are you asking if you are answering your own question. If you want an answer, take both! Incomprehensibly amateur ...

  • J-fx

such a long-awaited review and so many empty disputes ... better put likes silently, it will be more useful

Arkady, just wondering, in the D700 review you wrote that you don't know what you would choose for yourself - D600 or D700, now after a while - is your choice subjective?

and thanks again for the review, the camera is excellent, after the D200 and its noise even at iso800 - with the D600 it seems that now the possibilities are simply endless

unless the brakes in LiveView in the maximum zoom mode prevented a little, I take off at 50 1.2 and this sometimes interferes, but of course it’s not critical =)

    • Arkady Shapoval

The d700 review is supplemented with the following line “In choosing Nikon D800, D700, D600, I would adhere to this sequence, going out of the budget: Nikon D800E -> Nikon D800 -> Nikon D600 -> Nikon D700” Please note that this is my opinion, not common truth :)

  • Sirusvirus

    Hello!
I am tormented by one question ... I would be very grateful for an adequate answer :)

I read almost all the reviews and reviews on the Internet about the D600. In many examples of pictures I observe some kind of micro-lubrication or something (and this, say, at 1 / 160s with a stationary object). As if the picture is a little “soapy” and a little overexposed. Pictures from D600 somehow strain me, I don't like it.
And in connection with the above, the D600 does not have the effect of a "fabulous" picture as the D700 does (and even more so other professional models).

Have you noticed anything like this?

    • anonym

No, I did not notice, even at a shutter speed of 1/60 sec. But a friend on Nikon D800 has such a sin because of the “medium format” resolution of the sensor.
As for the quality of the picture, it primarily depends on the optics and direct hands of the photographer.

  • Eugene

Noticed on his own. So far, I sin only on the curves of my hands, but the worm of doubt gnaws.

    • anonym

Eugene, doubts will go away with time;)
