Nikon D3200 review

For the opportunity Nikon D3200 body camera review Many thanks to Natriashvili George, who sent me a camera from another area to Kiev for writing this review.

Nikon 105mm f / 2.8 VR Micro on Nikon D3200

Nikon 105mm f / 2.8 VR Micro on the Nikon D3200 camera

Nikon D3200 is an excellent consumer DSLR camera from Nikon. Nikon D3200 was released in the summer of 2012 and is now quite popular among Nikon amateur cameras. Title 'Nikon D3200 body ' means that the camera in the box does not have a lens. Usually Nikon D3200 comes with a lens Nikon 18-55mm f / 3.5-5.6G VR AF-S DX Nikkor. Such a lens is called 'whale', and the set itself is called Nikon D3200 kit. In this review, sample photos were not taken with a whale lens, but with Nikon 50mm f / 1.4G AF-S Nikkor.

Nikon D3200 boasts 24 MegaPixels on its CMOS matrix with crop factor 1.5X. Nikon D3200 camera can take pictures 6016 X 4000 pixels (24.064.000 pixels). Newer Model Nikon D5200 a slightly different matrix is used, with almost the same, but slightly fewer pixels. Among the cameras with a sprinkled matrix APS-C format Nikon DX, so far the Nikon D3200 has the largest number of pixels... By the way, the newer model is Nikon D3300 has a little less pixels :)

Users who like to crop pictures on a computer a lot should like the small functional Nikon D3200. A very interesting point is that if we build a full-frame matrix with the same pixel sizes as the Nikon D3200, we will get a 54MP camera. Similar thoughts came true with Nikon D7000 (16mp) -> Nikon D800 (36MP = 16MP * 2.25).

A huge number of megapixels Nikon D3200 requires special attention. A large number of pixels on the camera can sometimes play a trick. It concerns:

  • huge file sizes, especially when shooting in RAW format. Personally, I don’t particularly like the long copying of files to a computer and the resource consumption of batch processing of 'heavy' photos.
  • It is quite difficult to achieve the so-called 'pixel-by-pixel' sharpness with such a matrix, for this you need to use lenses with good resolution, that is, very sharp lenses. Sometimes closing the aperture to a certain value of the number F just helps. There are a lot of rumors about this, I can reassure you that it’s not worth worrying. Most likely in the comments to this review you will find many bright thoughts about manipulating sharpness.
  • a matrix with a large number of pixels has a lower diffraction threshold. This topic is quite complicated for the average amateur and deserves a separate article, who are interested, can be read here.
  • when using matrices with a huge number of pixels, you need to enter an additional coefficient for calculating excerpts. On the fingers, this can be explained in such a way that shorter values are required for handheld photography excerpts. When I worked with Nikon D3200, instead of my favorite excerpts in 1 \ 60 seconds for fifty lens, I had to use at least 1 \ 80 seconds to get a frame without stirring.

Personally, I need a camera with a large number of megapixels only for more flexible processing of photos on a computer, since with a large number of pixels you can pull out more useful data. But if processing is not needed, then I am quite pleased with the 6 megapixel Nikon D40... On the topic of pixels, I have another interesting article - Battle of Megapixels.

Nikon 105mm f / 2.8 VR Micro on the Nikon D3200 camera

Nikon D3200 can work with photosensitivity ISO 100 to 6400 units and expand your ISO range to Hi1, equivalent to ISO 12.800. I do not recommend shooting at ISO above 3200. Very interesting, but as for a cropped camera, the Nikon D3200 does a good job in low light. In my opinion, the noise level at high ISOs of the Nikon D3200 is comparable to such cameras as Nikon D5100 и D7000. One can safely say that the Nikon D3200 is one of the quietest cameras among other Nikon crop (at the beginning of 2013). Unlike older Nikon cameras, this model when operating in auto ISO can set the minimum shutter speed itself, exiting the parameters of the mounted lens.

Nikon D3200 uses for focusing 11 pointswhich the Nikon Multi-CAM 1000 focus sensor is responsible for working with. The exact same focusing system can be found on cameras. D200, D80, D90, D3000, D5000, D3100, D5100 и S5 pro. 11 focusing points are enough for uncomplicated amateur photography. The Nikon D3200 has the 'points' of focus that are visually visible in the viewfinder, not the 'areas' of focus, as on many other Nikon cameras. You can read more about focusing on Nikon cameras. here и here.

Measurement exposure implemented with 420 pixel RGB sensor. The same sensor can be found in many other Nikon hobby cameras. About froze exposure you can read on Nikon cameras here. In general, the Nikon D3200 normally copes with metering in difficult lighting conditions. exposure. But automatic white balance going crazy. I shot in a room with mixed light sources, white balance very often he lied, and shooting people under incandescent lamps was just horror - in the gallery below you will find one such photo. Due to the camera's huge dynamic range and vivid saturated colors, incorrect BB leads to the fact that the picture does not look the best.

Nikon D3200 - very compact SLR camera, one of Nikon's lightest CZK, weighing only 500 grams. The battery of the EN-EL14 camera holds a charge quite well. The same battery is used for cameras Nikon D3100, D5100, D5200.

Nikon D3200 uses a large 3-inch display at 920.00 points. The same display can be found in more advanced cameras, by type D3, D3s, D3x, D700, D300, D300s, D90, D7000 etc. Working with such a display is very convenient. Nikon D3200 display is better than that of Nikon D3100, which has the same 3 inches, but is divided into 230.000 points.

Example photo on Nikon D3200

Nikon D3200 can shoot at speed 4 frames per second. Nikon D3200 shows very good performance results, this is due to the use of the processor from Nikon D800. Performance rating from Radozhiva can be viewed here. At the same time, in the RAW mode, the buffer indicator shows 8 shots, but in fact the camera takes about one shot 12 RAW format shots and with disabled advanced features that enhance the image. In JPEG mode, the buffer shows 14 pictures, but the camera takes about 19 pictures in one series until it starts to slow down. If you enable additional settings to improve image quality, then in RAW format and in the JPEG formatter 7 pictures are available in one burst. These are pretty good results for an amateur camera.

Sample photo on Nikon D3200

Sample photo on Nikon D3200

I was very surprised that Nikon D3200 uses RAW files only with 12-bit color depth. For example, cameras D5100 и D5200 use RAW files with 14-bit color depth. RAW files average approximately 20-25MB each. Camera supports SD, SDHC, SDXC (UHS-I) memory card, I used a 32GB SDHC memory card without any problems.

Nikon D3200 allows you to shoot video Full HD up to 1920 x 1080 pixels and up to 25 fps. In the 1280 by 720 mode, you can shoot video at up to 50 fps. Uses MOV format and H.264 codec, you can set the quality level to 'High' or 'Norm'. When shooting video, the built-in monaural microphone. You can use manual or automatic adjustment of the microphone sensitivity, and you can also turn off the microphone altogether.

The camera has an additional stereo microphone jack, Nikon recommends using the native ME-1 microphone. The camera can use continuous tracking focus AF-F for shooting video. AF-F focus mode must be set using the 'I' button while Live View is on. The accuracy and focusing speed in the video shooting mode is not fast; the focusing model is very strongly affected by the lens model used on the camera. The camera can be connected to the TV using a Type C HDMI mini cable.

In the camera menu, you can activate the 'Manual video setting' item. When this function is enabled, in manual mode of camera control 'M', manual shooting video available excerpts and ISO. Exposure can be set from 1 \ 30 to 1 \ 4000 seconds. When shooting video, you can immediately change the ISO value using the FN button if you set the FN button to control ISO sensitivity. It is convenient to shoot video in manual mode and with the included auto ISO function.

In P, A, S modes, you can shoot video and make corrections exposure for video using '+ \ -' button. In other scene modes, the correction exposure not available. Attention: during video recording, you cannot change the aperture value on which the video will be recorded, therefore, you need to set the F value before pressing the video recording button.

Example photo on Nikon D3200

Example photo on Nikon D3200

Attention: The Nikon D3200 does not have a built-in focus motor, so be careful when choosing lenses for the Nikon D3200. Nikon D3200 fits all lenses with the designation DX, as well as any lenses with the designation AF-S, AF-I, or with any another designation, which indicates the presence of a focusing motor built into the lens. This disadvantage of the Nikon D3200 may slightly affect the cost of purchasing additional lenses. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with this, since all modern lenses have a built-in focusing motor.

All the photos in the gallery below were taken on the Nikon D3200. All photos without treatment... RAW -> JPEG Q80%. Reduced size to 1600 * 1200 and printed data from EXIF.

RAW source files ('.NEF') can be download from this link (28 files, 350 MB).

Nikon D3200 has a bunch of useful features:

  1. Function face priority focusing Live View - quickly helps you focus on people's faces.
  2. Function matrix cleaning. I recommend setting this function to clear the matrix when the camera is turned off.
  3. Guide Mode to quickly familiarize yourself with the camera and quickly learn the basic settings. By the way, in this mode there is a mode of softening the background area, which allows you to take pictures with blurry background, the camera recommends using lenses no shorter than 80mm.
  4. Tips & Tricks when working with the camera. A nice little thing for beginners. To see the prompt, you need to click on the button with the image of the question mark.
  5. Scene Recognition System, for people who need effortless results in the photo.
  6. Active D-lighting and noise reduction function at high ISO. You can read more about these functions. here.
  7. Picture Control with 'Standard', 'Neutral', 'Vivid', 'Monochrome', 'Portrait', 'Landscape' modes. I love that you can customize the Picture Control for color and taste. For this review I used the Vivid mode with a sharpness level of 7-9.
  8. Possibility remote controlfor example using a cheap remote control ML-L3. By the way, the camera has two infrared receivers of the remote control signal, one is located behind the camera, the other in front. This arrangement of receivers is very convenient to use.
  9. The ability to connect an additional wi-fi module WU-1 for instant transfer of photos / videos to a computer or other compatible devices. Not included in delivery.
  10. Quiet mirror operation.
  11. Electronic rangefindersorry range finder does not work with old class optics AI-S.
  12. The built-in flash can operate at shutter speeds up to 1 \ 200 second. The flash guide number in manual flash control is 13 meters. Nikon D3200 does not support FP mode works with flash and does not support creative lighting system Nikon CLS.
  13. Auto release function. The self-timer can be set to a series of 9 shots. It is convenient to take self-portraits, especially with a group of people.
  14. automatic adjustment distortions.
  15. An additional button has appeared on the Nikon D3200 body, which is responsible for the shooting mode - you can select burst, single-frame shooting, self-timer and release with a delay
  16. the D3200 has a rubberized insert on the body under the thumb of the right hand, as well as the camera grip-holder is also rubberized. Black rubber is clearly visible on the red camera housing shown in the photo below.
  17. You can buy a camera in a red case :)

Personal experience:

In this cell, I found fault with the following:

  • Pentazor-based viewfinder with 95% frame coverage
  • UC-E17 Series Custom USB Cable
  • the Fn function button is programmable for only 4 functions: quality / image size, ISO sensitivity, white balanceactive D-lighting. I configure this button to control ISO.
  • Active D-lighting It can be either turned on or off and has no gradations. And here is the passive D-lighting in post-processing it already has 3 gradations: normal, moderate, enhanced.
  • When the battery is depleted, the camera blocks the shutter, but you can still dig into the menu for a long time and watch the shot material. This annoys me very much, the camera works but does not take pictures.
  • the 'noise reduction' function is not divided, but immediately includes noise reduction in pictures taken with high sensitivity, and noise reduction in pictures taken at long excerpts. Also, this function does not have any gradation of noise reduction, but can be either turned on or off. On other cameras, you can set the noise reduction level
  • in RAW + JPEG mode, only 12-bit RAW and only JPEG with high image quality are available
  • it is not clear which lenses will work with the 'Aut. distortion control '. The menu states that these must be CPU lenses with distortion control support.
  • the ISO step does not change and is 1 step, which means that you cannot manually select the ISO with values of 125, 500, 2500, etc. Only ISO 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200, 6400, Hi1 can be used.
  • you cannot control the aperture value while shooting a video, most likely this is due to mechanical limitations and the aperture control method itself, which use Nikon cameras.
  • you cannot immediately start recording video by pressing the 'rec' button. Be sure to turn on Live View, and then press the 'rec' button.
  • lack of additional features that are in more advanced cameras, such as Nikon D7000. These functions include bracketing, multiple exposure, HDR, etc.

In general, I really liked the small and remote Nikon D3200. It would not hurt to improve the operation of the automatic BB. I even thought if I could change my old woman Nikon D40 on the Nikon D3200. After Nikon D40 Pictures taken with the Nikon D3200 appear very vibrant and juicy.

How did you attach a fifty dollars from Canon to a camera from Nikon? Can you educate?

  • Olga

    Good evening!
I really need the help of professionals! I want to buy the first DSLR, rented on the phone, soap box, like hands from the right place :)))
Tell me, what is better for a start Canon 650D or Nikon D3200 ???
Thank you in advance for your help :)))

    • Valery A.

Kind. I’m not a professional, but I’ll tell you. You have brought cameras of different levels, the equal of the Canon 650D is Nikon D5200, and the Nikon 3200 is Canon 1200D. Therefore, Canon 650 is cooler, i.e. more functional. And so as the first, you can love any obsolete. Take a DSLR, even though Nikon D40 (3000, 5100 ..) or Canon starting from 350d to 600d.

      • Olga

        Thanks for the help :))

      • Igor

As a person who shot with the 1000 series canons, I will say no, no match). I shot on the 1100D, and it seemed that everything was fine with me, but when I bought a used D3100 to replace it, I had the feeling that I had bought a camera of a completely different level. Build quality first: the 1100D feels like a toy with its very cheap plastic. Nikon has normal plastic, there is no feeling that you are pushing it with your finger). Rubber bands: Canon didn't have them, just bald plastic. Against its background, the two silicone rubber bands on the D3100 seem like some incredible luxury. The camera itself is slow, the buffer holds about five frames in RAW. Video - nominally it is in the 1100D, in fact, consider it not. 720P non-autofocus with fully automatic settings. In the D3100, the shameful 1080p 24, in which you can still raise the bitrate higher with the firmware, if only the memory card allows it. And working autofocus. Constant monitoring of this to himself, of course, like all cameras of that time, but the single, when half-pressed right during the recording, is nice. I would like to believe that everything was much better in the 1200D, but still a small buffer even at a lower resolution and the Deshman case has not gone anywhere, and compared to the D3200, everything is sad there. There is no microphone jack, no sensor cleaning, lower resolution and display quality, lower continuous shooting speed and noticeably less buffer size. And if we compare it with the D3300, which was released in the same year as the 1200D, the latter is already losing a lot in terms of video. They are not equal, well, at all)

        • Denis

By the way, compared to the D3200, the D40 buttons are made even better

          • Valery A.

Igor, I meant “equal” in terms of user niche and exit time, both of them did not “use” them, but at one time I chose between the new 1100 and 3100, purely outwardly (larger screen, neat look) I chose 3100. You have now confirmed correct choice. Since then on nikon.

  • Inga

I recommend your site to everyone! Everything is written in great detail and “chewed” for beginners and photo lovers! Thanks for your work!

  • Question to Arkady

Hello! I read the review of the D3200 camera and decided to look at the RAW files attached to the review ... What I saw at 100% crop on the monitor is something! Arkady, do you really think that the noise or graininess of the images obtained with this camera at ISO100 are comparable to the D5100 and D7000? Yes, it seems to me, in general, incomparable things - such graininess on the D5100 and D7000 can be obtained only by raising the ISO to 800 and higher! And the grain on the D3200 is so “nasty” that it conceals detail - instead of hairs and eyelashes, there is one continuous mess, and straight lines seem to be torn and zigzag ... Maybe you had “sharpening” at maximum in the camera settings? Honestly, the detail is so bad that you don't even want to sprinkle photos. I myself am the owner of the D5100 and at ISO 100-400 the grain / noise is similar to that of 3200 - in general it is impossible to see RAW in pictures, so when choosing a camera, definitely look towards the D5100 and D7000, but not towards the D3200. Even the grain on the D90 looks less flawed, somehow more “filmic” and pleasant than on the D3200….

389 comments, 6 years old and suddenly, unexpectedly, a person appeared with eyes. Of course, hundreds of flies will not convince anyone of the gastronomic properties of poop, but one taste of the cake is trying to spoil it.

      • Denis

To me, subjectively, photos with the D3200 seem noticeably worse than with the D5100

        • Sergos

There are adapters with a glass, but this is with grief, and without contacts on the bayonet.

      • Dima

And I listen to such comments more, critical ones, so to speak. They are true and without honey)

    • Michael

So, 24 megapuxels do their job. Naturally, there will be more noise, and detailing will require appropriate lenses. It is not necessary to watch 100% crop from such cameras, it is very harmful to the eyes))

      • Nicholas

As far as I understand, when shooting, Arkady set Sharping + 9 (maximum), Saturation + 2 in on-camera settings, which actually leads to the appearance of grain in RAW files. Perhaps this is his trick - to make the pictures grainy (under the film). And if the parameters are set by default, then the grain is not visible at ISO 100-200. Yesterday I ran the D3200 myself, tested it. A camera was chosen as a gift from used options. But under all conditions being equal and on the same lens, the D5100 has an advantage. And viewing 100% of the crop allows you to evaluate the misses or “soapiness” of the lens. If you make photos for an instagram or a web site, then it doesn't matter what to take - even on a smartphone - no one will notice the poor quality of optics or carcasses. And if you buy 24MP and at the same time do not think about framing (sprinkling) from the photo, then why are these 24MP needed at all, if the detail is poor?

        • Michael

This is if you open a regular developer. And Sharp RAW on the side

        • Dima

These settings only work in zhipege or native developer. For a rav, if you open it in lightroom or ACR, then I don’t care.

      • Dima

But what about the vaunted dxo? ))) According to the tests, everything is just so sweet there))) They have some kind of special love relationship with Nikon along the way)

        • Dmitry Kostin

To dxo for a long time questions.
If you rely only on it, you will get the impression that some cameras have almost no dd.

  • Антон Ш.

Hello! Please help me decide. Questions to practice. I choose the first mirror. I am guided by used - Nikon d3100, 3200, 5100. I tend to the 3-thousandth series, because there is a guide mode, although I don't know how useful it is. At a price almost the same 3100 and 3200, the second is newer, but confuses 24 MP. Will my old laptop - asus k52f intel core i3, 4 GB of RAM with integrated video card handle photos. At the same time, I believe that processing will be minimal. I also heard opinions that 3100 makes less than 3200 noise at working (low) iso values. Tell me which camera is better?

    • BB

Guide (guide, in Russian) is almost useless, better read the article by Arkady here, there will be more benefit.
Of these, I would take the D5100 - there is a better matrix than the 3100, and the files are not as heavy as the 3200. Functions are reduced to a lesser extent + a rotary screen.
The laptop, of course, will not fly, but you can work (I have a backup laptop about the same)

      • Антон Ш.

        Thanks for the advice!

      • anonym

A DSLR without fine tuning AF is suitable only for dark shit and for braked live view.

    • First Substation

More laptop memory and you can still work

      • Антон Ш.

Thanks! So you need to buy a bar with memory

    • Sergos

This is two-dimensional graphics, not 3D. The old pentium4 2.8GHz works great with Photoshop. If you are not a professional and do not work with layers, I advise you to choose acdsee from version 8. Well, i3 will be guaranteed to work quickly with any editor. As for video processing, then this is a special topic.

  • Anatoly

tell me which is better to buy 3200 or 7000?

    • anonym

      7000

  • Anatoly

My 3300 auto is heavily lying on my BB car, even during the daytime overexposed shots on the street, how to cure who knows?

    • BB

You already decide: your BB is lying, or metering? There are no telepaths here, and if the first time your question was not answered, then you asked it incorrectly.
To get started, read the article by Arkady (https://radojuva.com/o-fotografii/), read the instructions for the camera (yes, there is also a lot of useful information), sometimes it is useful to make a complete reset. And then, when you have exactly decided on the problem, then if it’s not about crooked handles, then the path to your service.

  • Valentine

Igor. Please tell me whether autofocus will work with the FD-Nikon F adapter if it is installed on the Canon EF 75-300 1: 4-5.6 ultrasonic. I will wait for advice.

    • Alexander

Does such an adapter exist? Nikon, after all, has the largest working length, and without dances with a tambourine, only optics with F mount becomes on it.

    • Sergos

there will definitely not be autofocus

      • Sergos

There are adapters with a glass, but this is with grief, and without contacts on the bayonet.

  • Sergos

They talk about noise in a strange way, abstractly. But concretely, nothing. Firstly, what is the ISO of the picture, secondly, they compare 100% crop 24mp and 14 d3000 \ 24mp -noise, and if you click down from the 24mp crop a couple of times to 14mp crop, what We'll see. I saw and started 36 megapixels, although I will never give up and say 10MP ssd matrix \ this is personal, especially since there is a penny on the secondary.
This is SW. Arkady can jokingly pull ex. shot with d40 \ 6mp \. The amateur is better to have a carcass more modern \ of course who has what wealth.

    • Sergos

      d3100-14 mp wrong

  • an25673

Hello, who has a Nikon D3200 camera, tell me, should autofocus through Life View sound an alarm when autofocus has worked or not? When autofocusing, I get a signal through the viewfinder, but not through Life View, although the focus areas change color from red to green. On the D3100, my signal is triggered both during autofocus through the viewfinder and through Life View.

  • Vlad

Good afternoon, Arkady. Please help with advice. The task is to shoot backstage from master classes and lectures at the conference. Shooting indoors is likely to be difficult lighting. There is a choice of Nikon d90 and d3200. I will rent the lens, nikkor 35 / 1.8 or sigma 18-35 / 1.8. What is better to choose based on noise at high iso and accuracy af? There is no way to test in advance.

    • Arkady Shapoval

accuracy + - they are similar, 3200 makes less noise, 18-35 just right

  • Artem

I have been using D3200 + kit 18-55 since 2016. I want to buy all 50mm f / 1,8G because Well, very dark pictures at 18-55 indoors or in the evening. Automatically piles ISO 3200 almost always (in the settings it is worth: pull the exposure to ... and you can choose any ISO. By default, 3200). Therefore, the noises are very annoying, which, by the way, are already perceptible at 800, and sometimes at 400. I thought about changing it to the canon 600d, but I see they write that the d3200 is better (or am I mistaken?)
By the way, the question is on the mount. The D3200 does not have a built-in motor, so the lens needs an AF-S. And what about Canon with mounts, in particular at 600d.

3200 maybe a little better. There will be no fundamental differences at high ISO. Everything is simple for Canon - everything with an EF / EF-S mount will work, no pitfalls, unlike Nikon. If 50mm suits the room, you can buy it. It's better indoors, it's easier to shoot with flash

    • Alexander

For the room, the flash should be taken, but not fast, and also with a fairly small viewing angle, the fix. 50mm on the crop will become a portrait, in the apartment it is a bit crowded. Better to take 35 / 1.8, it will be something like a staffer.

Here I read the reason for the poor quality of jpeg on the site: the 24-megapixel Sony D3200 CMOS sensor brings with it a number of real advantages: high resolution and extended dynamic range. While we applaud Nikon's bold strategy of introducing the best sensors into cameras intended for the general public, we cannot help but regret the JPEG quality generated by the D3200, which a priori appears to be inferior to that of its competitors ... due to Nikon's restrictions on your software. That being said, with a good RAW converter, the D3200 will deliver image quality no worse than an expert-grade camera.

Where did Sony end up in the D3200? There Nikon NC81369R

  • a lion

Strange affair. I got into my hands here 3200. When shooting at a long exposure, the same amount and thinks after. Those. if the exposure is a minute, then after lowering the mirror, it will hang for a minute, as if writing on a card. As if the longer the shutter speed, the harder it is to save the file. Very uncomfortable.

try disabling long exposure noise reduction

  • Alexander

Hello, please help. There is an option to purchase nikon D90. D3200. D3300 with 18-105 lens, the price is about the same, It is supposed to be used for personal purposes, i.e. shoot on vacation, travel. Mostly a photo, occasionally a video. What is better? And with this use, do you need a second lens? if so, which one is better, there is Galios-44M, though without fitting for nikon. Thank you

    • Michael

In any case, the D90 loses to both other devices. And the 3200 is not much inferior to the 3300. For amateur tasks they are almost equal, the main difference is in the matrix manufacturer. 3300 gives the picture a little "sharper".

  • Elena

For those who don't understand at all, here is a list of telephoto lenses that will definitely fit and all functions will work. Thanks!

  • Alex

Tell me why the electronic rangefinder function (ranchfinder) is still suitable in cameras 3100, 3200, 5000 and 5100

    • Arkady Shapoval

for convenient work with manual optics, or with optics in manual focus mode

  • Konstantin

3200 pleasantly surprises in cloudy weather.

Witam, czy ten aparat jest odporny na różne warunki klimatyczne? Zastanawiam się nad kupnem, ponieważ chciałabym go wziąć do Włoch, ale boję się, że się zepsuje.
Thank you in advance for your answer.

A friend threw me a couple of ravens from this camera, I thought the files would weigh 26-27 meters and they weigh 22-23. Despite the fact that the frames are quite rich in content, not empty. And at the same time, the Canon EOS M at 18 megapixels also weighs 22-23 sometimes more meters. It turns out that in the younger Nikon models, the default files are slightly compressed? On Nikon D5100 at 16 megapixels, again, on average, 14 meters. Rarely more than 16.

    • Viktre

That's right, the files are slightly compressed.

      • Dima

That is, the canon of the rava does not compress, but the nikon in the younger cameras compresses? Well, now it’s not surprising that we see what we see) Nikon loses some of the shades, apparently, and in general there is some kind of skew in colors.

  • Dima

I twisted a few files from this device, where there is a lot of green, while spring. While surprised, green is adequate and not vyrviglazny. The color is more balanced. In vain, Nikon still doesn’t put its matrices ... At first glance, everything is very good after Sony’s poisonous matrices.

  • Sergei

There is such a feature of this camera that if you install a manual lens like Helios, then in M mode it is impossible to make exposure compensation using the button and control dial, the exposure compensation button in M mode controls the aperture, and exposure control has to be done through the device’s display, which is not very convenient

    • B. R. P.

How do you control the aperture from the camera on Helios? tell me more)

      • Sergei

I wrote that in M mode the exposure compensation button + control dial does not work, because... This button in M mode only works with the aperture value, I didn’t write that I control the Helios aperture, I wrote about a feature of the camera

        • B. R. P.

Using buttons from any device, you can influence the shutter speed and ISO (with lenses like G.) in M. All.
