The lens from this review 2/92 is projection lens from the overhead projector 'LETI 60' / 'LETI 60M'. Based instructions for LETI 60M it can be seen that the optical scheme consists of 6 elements in 4 groups.
Important: Photos are signed as Helios 2/92, this is a kind of mistake, do not pay attention to it. Details are in the comments.

Lens does not have an iris device. This means that the aperture of the lens is always fully open. The lens has a good aperture F / 2.0due to the fact that the diaphragm cannot be closed on a sunny day, at ISO 100 and 1 \ 8000c excerpts I received overexposed pictures on my D700.

Also at the lens no focus ring in the usual sense of the word. But the lens can be focused using a primitive spiral wormhole on two parts of the lens. To mount the lens on a modern digital camera, you need to redo it a bit. An adapter ring KP-42 \ N was put on my copy on the back of the lens, while the lens was able to focus from about 1.5 meters to infinity on Nikon cameras, although there is a significant flight for infinity.

The internally blackening of the frame is very poor, which makes it difficult to use the 2/92 as a regular lens. The lens easily catches 'sun hares', 'sunny rainbows', loses contrast in backlight. 2/92 has a strange yellow-orange enlightenment, which makes the image yellow-green, with the so-called 'Soviet bottle glass' tint. Auto white balance the camera slightly corrects the colors, in general, it turns out something interesting and vintage.

Due to the long focal length of 90mm and the fast F / 2.0 aperture, it is very easy to achieve a shallow depth of field with the lens. Due to the optical design of 'Biotar', an interesting bokeh pattern can be obtained. The lens turned out to be very sharp. In my opinion, the artistic component of the image of this 2/92 can easily compete with Helios-40-2 85mm F1.5. On the other hand, the lens is very picky about the light sources in the frame.

All sample photos taken on 2/92 and the camera Nikon D700... Due to the fact that the lens is not intended for ordinary photography, the contrast of the lens suffers greatly, and the unfinished picture looks very poor in most cases. In this review, the photographs have been improved. Mostly the contrast is enhanced when converting from RAW -> JPEG. Reduced the size of images to 3MP and printed data from EXIF.
Personal experience
Despite the dips in image quality, I really liked 2/92. The lens can be found at a very ridiculous price and, having worked a little over the alteration for modern cameras, you can get excellent art photos with a unique pattern.

I still appreciate such a lens, it’s very sharp, sometimes I set the diaphragm out of black paper 1 cm in diameter, then sharpness is generally throughout the frame. The hue is of course special.
I forgot to add enlightenment is not yellow- (sort of like on helioss 44), there is no hood either, but the color of the photo is still greenish. At Zenith, the sharpness seemed more than on Helios 44.
There is an interesting object for experiments. They say that they get excellent portraits. Luminosity 1,8. Resolution in the center 100, edges -60. It is called 35 KP 1,8 / 65… ..70..75.
The adapter is bolted to the outer part of the helicoid taken from the "Helios 44-2". The inner part of the helicoid flange enters the lens unit 35 KP and is clamped by the lens back fixing nut. To prevent the lens from jumping off, an L-shaped plate must be screwed on the inside of the helicoid. That's it, the lens can be mounted on the camera.
I have two lenses from the projectors Leti. Both are different and not like in the review. The first 64 years, with a red letter P, but enlightenment is yellow on both sides. The second 72 years, the enlightenment on the external lens is blue. Now I tried on to the cropped canon, the first infinity does not, the focus ends at about 4 meters. If you have a lens with a native helicoid, then the whole alteration is to attach the back of the lens (in fact, the helicoid itself) to the m42-canon adapter. I do not advise planting on glue. It is better to carefully weld or make an adapter (on a lathe) from the thread on the helicoid to the thread m42. If there is time, I will make and lay out photos of my own.

Lenses are fixed in the lens block by rings. These rings can be carefully unscrewed with a caliper (in your case, tighten, that is, you need to twist clockwise).

Catastrophically sharp in the center, it will be softer across the field. When you close the “zanzal” diaphragm, the field sharpness increases, but a very interesting vignetting appears.

Of course, the optical scheme is called "planar", and in no way "biotar". Some German lenses with a planar optical design were produced under the Biotar brand.
Some Soviet lenses with a planar optical design were produced under the Helios brand.
But this, of course, does not give Arkady the right to give each semi-glued symmetrical projection lens the Helios trademark - if only because this trademark does not belong to Arkady.
The lens must be named as indicated on it, namely “F-92 2/92”. This is a semi-glued symmetrical projection lens with anti-reflection coating and a "Planar" type optical scheme.

Also sometimes indulge in this lens as a portrait. A very good result. Only a hole 2.0 depth of field makes uchen narrow. I had to insert a thin black plastic between the lenses with a hole of about 18mm. The aperture has become at 3.2 but the depth of field has become wider. Yellows a little, weak chrome. Pretty good resolution at the same time. Here is an example frame.
