Yes, impressive. Noise level in my opinion is no more than on the D3100, despite the fact that the matrix is still made using those technologies.

For the sake of interest, he looked how much he now costs in the secondary market. It turned out not so cheap, almost like a used D7000. If its cost was like that of the D3100, I would have thought, and it’s already more profitable to take the D7000.

Ivan, these are absolutely different “worlds” of the camera :) I say this because I used the d7000, and now I am the owner of the d2x (Arkady just had my copy on the review). d7000 (IMHO) - family camera. And d2x won't let you down in any conditions. Frost, heat, water, dirt, dust, sand, etc. - NOT SCARY :)

I absolutely agree with what you say. It is probably difficult to compare here, depending on what purpose to take. If in order to professionally shoot reports for 2-10 hours every day, probably the truth is that D2X is more reliable. But if for family, creative photos, and reporting on average 1-2 times a week, then the D7000 attracts more, because newer matrix, ease of use, plus video, for a family is much more important than endurance in extreme cases.
This is personally a subjective opinion. D2X has never been used in the same way as the D7000. Therefore, these are purely theoretical speculations that have no practical use.

The weight of the camera rarely affects the quality of pictures. D2x in my hand sits better than my D700, but we then understand which pictures from which camera will be better in most cases.

I used both D7000 and D2X (s), I can say one thing: After D2X, I don't want to “change” to D7000, for many reasons. This camera just needs to be “used” to realize the benefits. I don’t deny the advantages of the D7000, but I absolutely don’t want to change my D2Xs to it!

Recently I got myself such a device. Gorgeous.
BUT there are two problems - all photos are in gray tones! Already tried all the settings - nothing helps - everything is gray and does not see green.
In addition, in the place where the memory card is located, one of the pins (the rightmost top one) turned out to be bent - this was noticed before the card was inserted.

What do you advise in order to normalize the color.
And how critical are the changes in the connector? and how you can influence them.

It is not correct to compare Nikon D2x with Nikon D7000. A real working tool of a professional class and an amateur DSLR ... Doesn't fit somehow. Let's remember, how much euro did Nikon D2x cost when it appeared on the market and how much did the D7000 cost?
Nikon D2x has a unique matrix, RAW with which it stretches in LR much better than with any modern cropped fellow.
I remembered one of my acquaintances, a journalist, he was shooting at Canon, and so - he was going on a voyage as part of one North Sea expedition, and received a brand new Canon EOS 7D at work for this business trip - they had just appeared - a novelty! I shot a reportage for them, then processed it, said a strong word to the marketing specialists of Kenon ... The next day I took the Seven to the department, handed it over and took back my proven Canon EOS 1D mark IIn. The case is a little off topic, but it seems to me very indicative - In my opinion, it is better to shoot with an old professional camera and get the expected consistently high result from the camera, than to use dubious new products of the amateur class, which in recent years, for some reason, marketers have become to call it “professional reportage cameras” ... Everything IMHO.

D2x focuses very poorly (inaccurately) in difficult conditions (in the dark or with different sources of club light), and with its native top optics! The D7000 focuses precisely under the same conditions, almost without misses! (I shoot with both cameras). In daylight with the D2x, there are no problems in terms of focusing. The D7000 is far more practical in terms of shooting than the D2x, no matter what. What was a professional mirror yesterday is an amateur crop today. That is life…

Kind time of the day. I’ll only say one thing that quietly in thought thinks that taking a NIKON D2X or 7000 if the budget allows it is better to take a full frame new, and otherwise if you take a bu ff then the best new crop is so sweet with new technology and the new NIKON D2X is already hard to find and costs quite a bit. 1 year ago I took the given camera 18000 runs were, and so I used it for about half a year, the mirror went up as I wanted to bring it to the service naturally everything was paid for, the guarantee in another city was said to be unsuitable for repair and there were no spare parts, but they also said that nim well they hit it because there was a shift in some part, so whoever has no money for a new ff buy the best crop, and 7000 is in a number of non-amateur and semi-professional cameras. For my own mind, I flew somewhere around 3500 bucks since I was chasing a pro camera Ponte were important. But remember, the camera is an important thing, but still the photographer takes the camera and not the camera, in inept hands and ff excuse me.

Thinking / not thinking - does not depend on the camera. For example, take the D7000 - and the D7100 is already out, and the full frame is cheap. In general, the d7000 will be the best option for the hobbyist.

    - It depends on what you are going to shoot and, most importantly, in what light ... The D7000 is a good amateur camera with the ability to get pretty clean shots in poorly lit rooms - where flash photography is not allowed. RAVs stretch pretty well, when processing a photo, you have to shift the BB - the camera fills everything in purple and blue - her skin, I would say, not very much, "potassium permanganate" ... Vacation, children, pets - that's her lot, for this she And it was created :) For making money and serious creative photography, D2x is much better suited - it has excellent color rendition, and correct (almost Canon's) skin tone, and grain that is practically indistinguishable from film at high ISO. The main fat minus of the camera is the low light sensitivity of the sensor by modern standards.
Among the shortcomings, one can also note the inaccurate definition of the WB when shooting with a flash, this is a constructive feature of the camera. In all other respects, the D2x is an ideal working tool with a very beautiful picture.
PS An excellent compromise between the two cameras, IMHO, (the golden mean) will be the acquisition of Nikon D300s.

SIMPLY GORGEOUS, IF DELIVERY 800 IS ALREADY NOISY, IF WITHOUT FLASH, AND SO CLEAR PICTURES IS GIVEN OUT, I PROFILE AND WORK IN THE NEWSPAPER, WHEN I NEED TO REMOVE SPORTS, I WILL MAKE AN EXTRACTION WITHOUT FACE FOR 1650, I HAVE FIFA-TEN-5,6, 8 COMES OUT AND ALL SHARP, ABOUT 4 FRAMES IN SECONDS, I USE RARE BUT KEYF I GET HOW ANKA IS THE PULMELETCHITCH STROKE. BUT ALREADY TIME TO CHANGE ON DXNUMXXS, THERE ARE AND A MATRIX GOOD AND NOISE A LITTLE AND PIXELS ALREADY MANY.

    Hi all!
I read the comments and could not resist not to respond.
I shoot at the moment on the Canon 5D, before that I changed the camera almost once a year,
and during this time I managed to try:
    D50 D70s D80 D90 D200 D300s and D7000 - after which I actually jumped to Canon.
And so I was offered to exchange my penny for D2x - in a delusion,
on the one hand, yes, I would like to return to Nikon, and a camera like D700 D600 D800 is now too expensive to buy, on the other hand - D2x seems to be good, but something in it confuses me.
Well, do not roll back to 200kkam, 300kam, which in fact I have tested and approved.
    Therefore, I am in thought.

The cameras are still different. Clearly understand their differences, understand why you are using the camera, and either the understanding passes that you don’t need to change anything, or the realization that you need a second camera. There are no universal camera solutions. In your case, change the system again. Change glass again? The 5D FF camera, with a bold pixel, is unique in its kind.
