For the opportunity lens overview Mir-3V 3.5 / 65 many thanks to photographer Ivan http://mcphoto.com.ua/.

Review of World-3V 3.5 / 65
TTX Mir-3V 3.5 / 65
Focal length: 65mm
Diaphragm: F / 3.5-f / 22
Number of aperture blades: 6 pieces
Optical design: 6 elements in 5 groups
Bayonet \ thread: Bayonet B
The weight: about 600g
MDF: 0.4
Front Filter Diameter: 88mm
There are several modifications of this lens, for example Mir-3B 3.5 / 65 with bayonet mount B (Pentacon SIX) and option World 3 3.5 / 65 Zebra. The differences are only in the mount, the method of controlling the aperture, the number of aperture blades and the cosmetic differences of the lenses. The lens has a younger brother Mir-38B 3,5 / 65which replaced World 3.

View Mir-3V 3.5 / 65
Attention: this lens from medium format camera, therefore, he will not show his work in all its glory even at full frame. On a modern camera, this wide-angle medium the lens turns into a lens with a standard field of view. MIR-3 in medium format will work like a 35mm lens in full frame, or 24mm in crop, thus providing a wide viewing angle. It's funny, but on a full frame, and especially on the crop, with MIR-3 you can get quite decent portraits.

How to use on modern cameras?
For use, you need an adapter from the Salute cameras to your system. I used this lens with an adapter KP-88 \ N (Salute-Nikon) with the ability to focus on infinity without any problems. True, the lens got the opportunity to fly for infinity. For more information on how to use such old vintage lenses on modern Nikon DSLR cameras, see Soviet optics... How to use on Canon - find in the section old lenses at canon.

Focusing
Focusing on the lens is only manual. The focus ring rotates about 270 degrees, with the front lens moving forward 3cm. Focusing is comfortable enough.

Assembly
My copy of 1977 release. Build quality on top. The lens in the hands feels like a piece of solid metal.

Example of a photo on Mir-3 B 3.5 65. The same cat with a guess on the lens
Diaphragm
The aperture of the MIR-3 lens is automatic, blinking, manual control of the diaphragm is available, which makes it very easy to use the MIR-3 on modern CZK. The lens has a depth of field scale.

Image quality
Believe it or not, the lens is sharp to insanity. Distortion on my narrow format camera is minimal. Vignetting is minimal. The lens catches bunnies very strongly. In all other respects, the image quality is excellent. At one time, the lens cost a lot of money. I highly recommend reading the comments to stock number 4, and look at what options were offered by readers.

Personal experience
I never thought that Mir-3V 3.5 / 65 could produce such an image quality. On the camera, the Mir-3V 3.5 / 65 looks no worse than the Nikkor 14-24 mm f / 2.8G ED AF-S with its unusual large convex front lens.

Conclusions:
Mir-3V 3.5 / 65 is an excellent medium format lens. Very sharp with amazing close focusing distances. Recommend. Also, you can look at one of the lens modifications - Mir-3 3.5 / 65 'zebra'.

Good day to all. I had one. He stood on NIKON 7100. Very strong glass. But there was a mold problem. After cleaning the workshop did not live long. If anyone has for sale would like to purchase. world 3 world 10.
There is an adapter KP-88 / N (Bayonet B (Kiev 88, Salute) - Nikon (Nikon F). The shank is interchangeable, if necessary, M42 can be installed.
Peter, how can I contact you?
I would purchase an adapter KP-88N
and I would buy kp-88n, if not very expensive
Pentax-nikon is the same as KP-88 / N?
For me, the game of the year is unique! Pedmak sucked on the very balls, although for me he was never a worthwhile game because of too many chernukha and too ideal character Geralt. In folycha, you can be anyone, the possibilities of a kuev cloud. The world is interesting, unlike the empty one.
I’ll buy the KP-88N crossbar
Arkady, hello, I want to get MIR 3 and got a little confused with the adapters (I have nikon 5300).
I read the reviews, who uses what, either an alteration from the back cover, or a layer cake from adapters ...
Will a Pentacon6 / Nikon F adapter suffice or need another?
Link
Is he or am I mistaken? Look experienced look please
This is not him, you are mistaken
I’m thinking of using it as a portrait, Nikon 5300 camera. Is it worth it? Can you advise a more suitable lens?
For portraits on 5300, buy a native 50 1,8G lens, if it's cheaper, or 85 1.8G - if money is not the most important thing, and most importantly - a good portrait lens
Does anyone sell an adapter KP-88 / N? It looks like you can’t find it with fire during the day.
I made the same mount on WAVE 3B on Pentax from a large extension ring, I met them on KENON, on OLH, I didn’t meet ON NIKON ,,, for lack of a normal tool I did the following: file cut the internal thread of the ring so that the lens entered in diameter , I drilled 3 holes for a thread (it’s possible m2 or 2,5-3) and I had to remove about 1 mm at the end of the ring (I have to cut and try for infinity, I saw through a little overrun, too lazy to fix, so happy) clamped the ring on the tail and that's it buzzing
It turned out well. As in the old Soviet magazines-heading "Do it yourself" ????

I will buy an adapter KP - 88 / N. Write in a personal. My mobile phone: (097) -592-8813. Thanks.
Arkady, tell me: a zebra or late world 3c, who has a better picture (sharpness, bokeh, color rendition)?
It’s hard to tell. But I am sure that at the moment the question is more about the state of a certain option. In what condition will you find him.
Color rendering should rather be better in later. Also, the latter has less MDF, but there are less aperture blades.
So I thought, MDF or 12 petals))
I chose 12 petals and did not regret
The adapter KP-88 \ N is very necessary :( Sell or give a link, please!

These are mount adapters B and not B! Mir38B is not in this adapter. Do not confuse people
I already understood ... Sorry ...
Is it suitable for Nikon D5100? the matrix is also cropped, so I’m thinking (((
Or can you advise something?
Will do. But I advise you to find money and take Helios-81N or Nikon 50 1.8G.
I took the lens. They have never used it. Like New. For a penny on Avito. The adapter had to be taken to eBay. Cost more than the lens. The first impression is a low aperture ratio. But the sharpness is just great. Smudging a picture is just hard. Handheld shooting is very easy due to the weight and sharpness. Exposure is easy to pick up. A couple of frames for a beginner like me.
Arkady thank you for all your reviews. For your work. It is thanks to you that I am assembling my optics park. From manual to autofocus. He himself learned to grind all the windows under Nikon. Today I’ve got a completely new world 3b. Serial number 790872. For $ 25. The problem was with the diaphragm. Googled in nete and having found nothing, he nevertheless dismantled it and washed it. Now it works like a watch. Great lens. And really sharp. It’s even in your hands to hold one pleasure. Management is very convenient. Thanks again.
MIR-3 is an early version of MIR 38B. It was just that this lens was expensive to manufacture and was changed to 38b. If you work in medium format, then this is the most useless focal length. Neither mind nor heart, as they say. How many MIR-38 I took with me, he was lying in a backpack. It is still lying around on the shelf, since I got it for nothing, but it's a problem to sell it - who needs it? Even this MIR -3B, no matter how good it is, can fit a leash for a 6 × 4,5 format. Here he can be like a staff member.
This, however, explains its cheapness in the secondary market - "in fig, no one needs it." Although you can get stuck and you can find a use for it, I do not argue. But this is in the event that you have no others and you need to shoot something.
One difficult problem to solve is how to choose a filter for this Mir 3? The thread diameter is 88 mm, there is no such filter anywhere. Ozone has 82 mm, and in other markets no more. Unless you try to hang a compendium, but their price is ten times more expensive than the lens itself. Not an option. No UV, no polarizer, no color for b/w, nothing!
If you are not shooting with a SF, you can also hang an 82 mm lens, if you have an adapter)
