Arkady, in this review you wrote that there is no built-in lens hood in the lens. Then for what purpose is this lens fit?

    • Arkady Shapoval

It allows you to simulate a hood using a shaft-shaped landing of the front lens.

      • Slam

        Thank you.

  • Vladimir

    Arkady good afternoon.
Is there no winner in sight or no one has decided?

    • Arkady Shapoval

In the section about the action, everything is written, more carefully.

      • Vladimir

        So did not guess yes)))

  • Novel

Great lens. I was very surprised by my drawing, even on the crop - some nobility of the picture, sharpness and plasticity at the same time. By the way, a very interesting construct - there is an internal hood, it can be unscrewed and then it will be possible to screw in the filter. But it is not external, it is recessed inside. If you're interested, I'll show you, Radozhiva has it already, in my opinion, twisted.

if this lens is connected to the kenon system through an appropriate adapter, will the focus on infinity be preserved?

    • Arkady Shapoval

      yes it will.

      • Dmitriy

Good afternoon! Please help with advice! I have a Canon 1D and Industar 29 with two adapters. I put it on the camera, turn on the M mode, but Err 01 still gives an error connecting the camera with the lens. Advise, please, how to solve this problem?

  • Sergei

    nifiga sharpness

  • Ivan

I like the lens for its plasticity.
Portraits are soft. I think this is because the resolution of the lens is only 25/10. Well, the Tessarov scheme at the same time makes it sharp. Plus, the contrast also holds good, better than Vega 12.

Arkady what is better wave 3 or indian 29? in quality and practicality

    • Arkady Shapoval

I did not use the wave, I can not tell.

  • Andrei

Found on the Internet this miracle of technology for 500 UAH. Check it is not possible because it is in another city. I wanted to take a bundle of whale + helios81n. Is it worth it for the money or look for an alternative?

  • Andrei

the lens is 59 years old and has not been used for 30 years, the condition is good in the photo, it was stored in a case

    • Arkady Shapoval

      I recommend industrial.

  • Andrei

I ordered from Alexander))) in a week I will share my impressions;)

    • Arkady Shapoval

      Will wait)

  • Andrei

Almost no information on the Internet on this subject except your resource !!!

  • Andrei

My copy on 2.8 gives a noticeable soft effect (spherical aberration), when closing the diaphragm the effect decreases. The lens is very simple to use, it is very nice to shoot. Since the glass is very old (66 years old) and, most likely, it has been used quite actively, there are micro-abrasions on the lenses. There is no infinity, it lacks quite a bit, but as I understand it, this is connected with the adapter and not with glass.
I will catch myself a little later and later describe my impressions)))

  • Victor

I got such a subject and the question immediately arose. When the mechanism of the jumping diaphragm is cocked, the diaphragm is switched by “a slight movement of the hand”. But if the mechanism is not cocked, then the diaphragm switches with considerable effort - what is the impression that something will break in the lens now? So it should be, or is this a feature of my copy? Maybe the manufacturer provided for switching the diaphragm only when it is cocked?

Is it possible to use this lens with the D90, a friend suggested for a hundred hryvnias.

    • Alexander

Yes, it is possible, but for this you need an adapter KP 88 / n and M mode in the camera.

  • Michael

Interestingly, this is a lens for a medium format camera, and the medium format is famous for its clarity and detail, why then the industrial resolution is only 25/12 ...

  • Oleg

Hello, you also tested such a lens as the Wave-3 80mm F2.8 MS. Which do you like more? Thank.

    • Arkady Shapoval

Yes, I was like that - https://radojuva.com.ua/2012/10/obzor-ms-volna-3-2-880/ lenses are different.

      • Oleg

I agree that they are different, but the parameters are similar .. Which one would you choose for yourself?

        • Arkady Shapoval

I do not even know. Both are interesting, Industar-29 seemed more interesting, but these are personal impressions.

  • Alexander

Industar-29 does not hold back light in principle, and a resolution of 30 lines per mm in the center is not good! I recommend trying Vega-28, this is a really cool machine!

  • Dima

please tell me Arkady on nikon d 90 industrial 29 and helios 44-3 ms what kind of adapters are needed? and will it autofocus or have to work with pens?)))

    • Oleg

And what should make it “autofocus” ??! Learn materiel, read more, and be more thoughtful.

  • Ernst

There is available Industar-29 P, 61 years old. Condition is very good, everything works, but requires cleaning. Ts. 400 UAH. Who needs to write Gabbi@gmx.ph

  • anonym

how to make an adapter for nikon d90 + industrial 29? or where to buy?

  • Igor

    Arkady, good afternoon.

What does an adapter for nikon look like? Why am I asking, because today I kept two different screw ones in the rivers (they are the same in height - the distance to the matrix, but the depth of the shaft from the side of the screw part is different). Everything would be fine, but my Industar 29 copy came to one adapter (but there is no infinity), and did not come to another (as if it “failed” and there was no click of the latch). The second adapter fits the newer screw lens (working). What does it mean ?? Industar's serial number 69 begins. There is Wave 3 with a first adapter, there is infinity on Nikon, but on it (I repeat) the industrial does not reach it. Someone can clarify this phenomenon and what can be done. Finding the master is the story of another endless quest - this is a real problem :)

  • Vladimir

EXCELLENT REVIEW !!! Thank you so much ! The people have no one to sell this miracle in good condition for an adequate amount? Pts. I want to use it ...

  • Ilya

I liked the lens, on the open it is soft but not soft. Afraid of contact light, like most medium format ones. If you like industrial (tessar) drawing then this glass will not leave indifferent. It is very expensive or extremely difficult to find a reducer, and besides, the imported ones on Hasselblad are suitable for carving, but the working segment is still not the same, so whoever is not afraid can try using my method.
I left my father’s extension rings from the medium format, the holder of the skipping rope is unscrewed (a black plate, it is not needed. Salute thread is carefully cut from I29. To retract and cut off the extension ring from the 12 mm edge. To sit down very tightly, it can be fixed to epoxy glue for reliability. Now there is infinity and sit down as a native on the adapter from Pentacon-m42 which is much cheaper, and if you are a fan of medium format optics you have it.
    Medium format cameras
    Pentacon 6 (Bayonet B) 74.1
    Hasselblad 74.9
    Kiev-88, Salute (Bayonet "B") 82.1

    • Sergei

      Ilya, good afternoon!
You can help with advice on how to deal with this alteration.
I would like to call you, otherwise I’m afraid that I’ll unscrew something or cut it.
If not difficult, write your phone to me in the mail. I'll call you back.
Thanks! Best regards, Sergei. If it doesn't work, or you don't want to, or you won't read it, it's okay.

    • Jury

Ilya, the thought is in the right direction, but not quite. The adapter is made of a macro ring for Salyut, 19 mm and KP-A / N (for Nikon) or KP-A / M42 for other systems. Moreover, it is almost indistinguishable from the factory one, it is not necessary to cut bayonet thread on the lens, it can be used with all lenses with B mount.

      • Ilya

I made from what was, you saw the photo, what's the point in looking for fireworks rings yet ...

  • Sergei

    loader777@yandex.ru
    I need a simple film Fujica ST901
    He is on m42

  • Ilya

Here's what it looks like, everything is fine, but thoughts, so they each have their own, the most correct.

      Also an option :)
