my D90 in the middle is nice, but it also makes me think: I need money for D4)))
Very useful info thanks.
PS Sori for offtopic, but maybe create a group "Radozhiva" in VK or Facebook?
A normal offer, but then people will hang in those services, and Radozhivka will not have any income from contextual advertising, and Radozhiva also needs to pay for hosting.
You can simply post links to new topics in the group on "Radozhiva", as you have on the VK page
I have a wall for this, as people react more sensitively to the news, since they come directly from me, and not from the group.
Subscribe to the mailing list like me and all :)
Arkady is right, you can’t do a group in the social network!
Well done, very accessible described!
the question is how often high performance is needed for a simple layman)
but the test is interesting
Arkady, respect!
Thanks. In general, I was interested in how much camera processors are developing.
Mistake Nikon D800-5k / s acc. 5 * 36 = 180MP / s
There is no mistake, I took the maximum possible shooting speed for a particular Nikon camera with a maximum image extension in JPEG format. D800 has 5k \ s only in the HH or 1.2x crop modes.
Your truth inattentively read
by the way, D200 and D5000 are the closest neighbors in your table. I am just facing a choice of these two cameras at the moment (used, but with very low mileage). At a fairly close price, which camera should you prefer? In D200, frankly speaking, is the age of entering the market confusing, or has the development been more marketing since then, and the camera is still relevant today? thanks
On my tablet https://radojuva.com.ua/2012/02/evolyuciya-kamer-nikon/ Nikon D200, D5000 cameras are by no means neighbors, as these are completely different cameras. In the review, Nikon D200 and Nikon D5000 describe all their advantages, just read enough to understand what works best. For an amateur, I recommend the D3100, the D200 is quite outdated and will be a good tool only in the hands of an advanced user or professional.
Arkady, I was referring to the performance plate of the CZK. I saw your evolution and the "class affiliation" of both chambers. The fact that the D200 “didn’t stand next to it” with the D5000 - I understand, is a different class of cameras. But age! As a person engaged in amateur photography, but for quite a long time, who managed to shoot on Olympus (E-3) with expensive (including manual) optics, I need an appropriate workhorse, the choice, alas, is now financially limited. Therefore, the question arose between D5000 and D200, tk. found ideally used just in my price range. Yes, I also found 30D and 40D canons with low mileage. After all, you can also slowly collect a park of optics for them, and "upgrade" the carcass. I realize this is quite messy, but the general questions are:
1. Planning to develop in terms of good optics, does it make sense to watch (and buy) the D200 today, given the motor, functionality, etc. (alas, IMHO the choice of universal lenses with a built-in motor and a good design is rather scarce, unlike screwdriver variety)
2. Will jpeg with D5000 be better than with D200 if the optics are the same (with raw there is not always time to mess around)?
3. Will it be, say, relevant to consider Canon 30D, 40D in my case (again, in comparison with the d5000 and d200).
Thanks for the answer. Regards, Ivan
1. D200 is interesting in motor and work with manual, advanced ergonomics.
2. Yes, JPEG will be better with D5000
3. 30d and 40 are also good cameras
To begin with, I would decide which system in the future you want to work with, and then choose any camera and slowly bring its body kit to the ideal.
Arkady, it seems to me that this table can be supplemented with one more column - the buffer performance for JPEG / RAW). Calculate the index by multiplying the “MegaPixels per second” value by the maximum series of frames in JPEG / RAW.
Naturally at your discretion.
In any case, thank you very much for that! Wonderful site!
Buffer data for all cameras is very difficult to obtain.
I looked at the table and that attracted the attention of the d 7100, it seems that according to the processors, in terms of megapixel speed, this is a cropped d800 in a case similar to the d 600
And they really have the same processor, so I couldn’t get more frames per second than d7100.
Arkady, good afternoon.
I now have in my arsenal D3000 with a small fleet of Soviet and modern optics (Jupiter 37a, Kaleinar 5H, Nikkor af-s 50 1.8g and whale 18-55 VRII). I am going to buy D2H for myself and looking at your list I look, it hasn’t gone far, whether there will be a fundamental difference between them. Is it worth it to buy it or is it better to buy something newer, for example d300 (s) (D7000 is not like)?! I shoot mostly portraits, reportage, sometimes weddings. Thank you very much!
d2h with its 4mp is not suitable for weddings, it is better already d300 / 7000
Hmm, and Joe Bussink is still using her for weddings!
You can use d1, he can afford it.
Dmitry, I also have d3000. D7000 didn't like it either, the functionality is wider, a screwdriver, but the colors ... D200, d300 are more important. Let's say d200 with 30k in excellent condition was recently seen in Belarus for only $ 195.
The table suggests that the performance of the camera's processor (i.e. the ability of the camera's processor to process n-number of megapixels per second) and the actual performance itself, at least for top-end cameras, are two completely different values. Moreover, it is obvious that the speed of the camera processor significantly exceeds the capabilities of the mechanics and the camera buffer. for example, the d800 processor has a declared performance of 600 megapixels per second, (which is indirectly confirmed by the ability of the Nikon 1 series with this processor to make a series of 10MP frames at a speed of 60 fps.) then the eight hundred should have done 16,5 fps, and does only 4. therefore, in the table, the performance of the mechanics / buffer is multiplied by the settings of nikon engineers, rather than the performance of the camera processors, since it is they (mechanics / buffer / settings) that are the bottleneck for increasing the performance in burst shooting with top cameras.
Arkady, I did a test on counting megapixels the Nikon pointer indicated that I took nef from the D80 d7000 d800 d810 and drove it into the native Capture NX 2 editor and increased the scale to 1600% to the pixel-by-pixel grid in the picture. And what I saw :) From year to year, manufacturers of cameras from the Nikon line sell air to us counting sub-pixels for megapixels. I killed the result because I used the same 60 f2 / 8 macro lens where the resolution is very high. The result is the leader camera with a CCD D80 matrix, the number of cells on the diagonal is 38 by 26, then d7000 is the number of cubes 36 by 24, then the full-frame cameras went 700ka, 800ka and 810y result 33 by 21.5 cubes. The conclusion is that since a person buys d 800 or d 810 he puts optics on it about the price and more expensive, because the manufacturer indicates that the camera is very demanding on glasses, and believes that he has a picture of 36 megapixels from good glass. Detailing depends only on the glass when shooting with a tripod, for example, and comparing cameras. So dear Nikon has been blowing us for a year now and the last scratch camera was the d80 and d700 and d3 the rest which went later alas, but this is marketing.
Well, shoot on d80, who's stopping?
hello, I am offered to change d90 to D2xs how to compare them? D2xs seems to be old ... but in some way it is cooler in some way worse ... the mileage of the cameras is almost the same. can you tell me you want to try a professional camera, but as if I'm afraid that the picture will be either the same or worse ...

Think for yourself, decide for yourself ...
I wanted to know the opinion of just who worked with these two cameras
