Review of the Nikon D7000 body. Near Vega-11U.

Review of the Nikon D7000 body. Near Vega-11U.

Nikon D7000 is a very unusual digital SLR camera. On the one hand, it has some indicators better than professional cameras Nikon D300, D300s, on the other hand: Nikon D7000 does not reach the professional level. Historically, the Nikon D7000 is difficult to attribute to one of two categories, therefore, I will dwell on this in more detail.

Signs of a Nikon D7000 indicating a professional level:

  • Compatible with old manual (non-studded) lenses AI-S. The camera works perfectly with any manual lens, even with non-native AI compatible.
  • The presence of two slots for memory cards
  • Save option 14-bit RAW File
  • Dustproof and waterproof
  • 100% frame coverage in the viewfinder, a clean viewfinder
  • The presence of over short excerptsequal to 1 / 8000s.

Signs indicating that the Nikon D7000 refers to amateur (amateur cameras)

  • At the camera part of the body is made of plastic. The case is not all made of metal alloy, as in older models D200, D300, D300s.
  • The camera does not support quick cards CF
  • Frame buffer total 9 (maybe 10) RAW shots
  • The burst speed is fixed and does not expand with the booster
  • Well, of course, the presence of automatic modes of use, as in a number of models Nikon D80, D90.
  • Camera does not allow saving uncompressed RAW file

I stand in solidarity with Nikon, which classifies the Nikon D7000 as an amateur camera. It so happened that the line of professional cameras is Nikon D100, D200, D300, D300s, D500. In turn, the range of cameras Nikon D70, D70s, D80, D90 has been improved and supplemented by Nikon D7000 cameras, D7100, D7200, D7500. You can see for yourself composed by me Nikon camera geneology chart. Therefore, the Nikon D7000 is simply an improved level of advanced amateur cameras, but not a professional line.

Review of the Nikon D7000 body. Redesigned shooting mode selector.

Review of the Nikon D7000 body. Redesigned shooting mode selector.

The most important thing in the Nikon D7000 for the photographer:

1. CMOS sensor in 16.2 megapixels DX format with crop factor 1.5x. The same matrix is in Nikon D5100. The same number of megapixels in the flagship Nikon D4. The number of megapixels is not so importantbut the working range of ISO is 100-6400 and expands to 25.600. Believe the range ISO 100-25.600 - this is already serious. Moreover, we can say that at ISO 3200 you can very often get a satisfactory result. Funny, but Nikon released an amateur Nikon D3200which has as much as 24MP. True, the quality of pictures at high ISOs is much worse than full-frame cameras, such as D700, D3 etc.

Very similar to the fact that Nikon D7000 uses a matrix that Sony produces, the same matrix is available in cameras

2. Burst speed 6 fps. It is worth noting that the D7000 did realize fast shooting with 14 bit RAW without losing the shooting speed. D300(s) loses shooting speed at 14 bit RAW, in fact D300(s) speed with 14 bit RAW is poor 2.5 fps. 6 fps for the Nikon D7000 is very good. I do not recommend chasing a rapid-fire camera, very often the rate of fire is not important at all. For example, in a studio, flashes are sometimes recharged within one second, and few people shoot faster than 2 fps. For home and leisurely photography I have enough Nikon D40 and 2.5 fps. But high shooting speed is important for reporting, unfortunately high speed requires a good buffer size. The buffer is where pictures are stored in the camera before being written to the memory card. An analogy can be drawn that the buffer is the camera's RAM, and the card is its hard drive. The Nikon D7000 has a small buffer, see below.

Review of the Nikon D7000 body. Rear view camera. The main panel of buttons.

Review of the Nikon D7000 body. Rear view camera. The main panel of buttons.

3. The number of frames in the buffer depends on the image recording format. What interests me most is the buffer when shooting in RAW format, and for maximum 14bit RAW quality with lossless compressionhe makes up 9 frames. With a shooting speed of 6 fps, the camera starts to slow down after the second second of shooting. You immediately understand that the D7000 is far from a professional camera. Here are other buffer metrics:

  1. JPEG maximum quality, quality priority with disabled ADL, Noise reduction, High ISO Noise reduction, etc. - 15 frames.
  2. JPEG maximum quality, quality priority with ADL, Noise reduction, High ISO Noise reduction, etc. - 11 frames.
  3. RAW 12bit lossless compression - 9 frames, the file weighs about 12MB
  4. RAW 12bit normal compression - 9 frames, the file weighs about 11MB
  5. RAW 14bit lossless compression (the absolute maximum quality for Nikon D7000) - 9 frames, the file weighs about 20MB
  6. RAW 14bit normal compression - 9 frames, the file weighs about 15MB

Frame buffer is one of the most important indicators of camera speed... Even my old lady Nikon D200 squeezes 21 frames of continuous shooting and gives as much as 4 seconds of shooting without brakes in a series of 5 fps. The camera buffer of the Nikon D7000 in RAW mode greatly disappointed, I don’t know what those who say about the professionalism of Nikon D7000 think.

4. Nikon D7000 has convenient help with tips, different shooting modes like “night portrait” or “sports”. The camera has a convenient photo editing system. For those who are too lazy to mess around with editing programs on a computer, the Nikon D7000 has an excellent image editor built in. Also, in addition to JPEG processing, the Nikon D7000 camera supports RAW processing.

5. The display of the camera is excellent, with 920.000 pixels. The display is very large and bright. Viewing images on the display is a pleasure. The same display is on Nikon D90, D300, D300s, D700, D3 etc.

6. The ergonomics of the camera is excellent. The additional display helps a lot. It is very convenient to configure the basic parameters for an external monochrome display. The external monochrome display has a backlight. U1, U2 modes allow you to save all the necessary settings and quickly switch between the settings of the camera U1 and U2.

7. Nikon D7000 supports AF lenses without built-in focus motor. For example, Nikon D7000 will work fine without motor cheap and high quality lenses. Nikon 50mm F1.8D, Nikon 85mm F1.8D, Nikon 70-210mm F4.0AF etc. And also, Nikon D7000 gives the chance to work with AI, AI-S and any other old lenses. For example, the camera can easily make friends with manual lenses Nikon 50mm f / 1.2 AI-s Nikkor, Helios-81H, and Nikon 100mm F / 2.8 Series E etc .. If you specify the parameters of the manual lens in the camera menu, then matrix metering will be available exposure... The camera can store 9 'non-CPU' lenses (the same number in the more serious D300s / D3s / D3X). Only the following DX cameras could work with old lenses: Nikon D200, D300, D300s. Nikon D7000 uses a unique focus module Multi-CAM 4800DX with 39 sensors (9 cruciform)which is the same as a full-frame camera Nikon D600... 39 focus points are enough for any kind of photography. Focusing accuracy and speed are highly dependent on the lens rather than the focusing system. And the camera has a new one 2016 pixel RGB sensor measuring exposure.

Nikon D7000 - rear view

Nikon D7000 - Back View

9. Viewfinder 100%. This means the following: what you see in the viewfinder when you zoom in is fully consistent with what will be in the photo. Typically, coverage is 95% of the frame. For example, Nikon D90 also 95% and often at the edges of the photo extra details appear, since they are not visible in the viewfinder. A trifle, but very nice.

Example photo on Nikon D7000

10. The camera can shoot video with a maximum quality of Full HD 1,920 X 1,080 (24p), while using a mono microphone (for stereo sound, you should buy a separate stereo microphone). The camera has automatic focus when shooting video, which they could not Nikon D90, D5000. The video is of sufficient quality (according to the reviews of my colleagues, I myself am not strong in video analysis). The maximum length of a video is 20 minutes. Of course, the camera has a Live View mode. In this mode, focusing is performed in contrast and is much slower in speed than normal focusing using the optical viewfinder and phase sensors. The Live View button is combined with the video recording button. In focus mode AF-C and with Live View turned on, the camera automatically monitors focus, even if the shutter button is not pressed.

11. The flash can work in command mode on system Nikon CLS. When using external flash units SB-600, SB-700, SB-800, SB-900, SB-910 (or from third-party manufacturers) quick synchronization with shutter speeds up to 1/8000 is possible, this is very important when photographing with flash at slow shutter speeds.

Photo on Nikon D7000

12. A bunch of pleasant things: the shutter withstands at least 150.000 operations, the camera has a gyroscope, the ability to shoot at intervals, alignment (adjustment) of precise focusing and many others.

Personal impressions:

The camera is very good. The camera menu is very large, it is not so easy to figure it out. In the review, I touched only on vital points for the photographer, if you need to find some trifle in the settings, then the instructions will help.

In many ways, the Nikon D7000 is one of the best DX-format cameras. When they ask me which advanced camera I recommend, then Nikon D7000 is the best option.if the issue price does not play a role. In my hands, in my opinion, the camera looks more like Nikon D90than on Nikon D300s. Image quality: at a high level, however, you can only talk about matrix noise, color reproduction, etc., since the image itself forms the lens and at low distinguish one camera from another. Some of my colleagues video operators shoot video on the Nikon D7000, and it is for the sake of video that they take this camera. Also, very often the Nikon D7000 is very popular as a second camera with professional photographers.

Comparison with other, similar in functionality, cameras from Nikon

Nikon D90 VS Nikon D7000

The Nikon D7000 has a step higher ISO, and two steps higher maximum (extended) ISO. 4MP added. The viewfinder covers 100%. Support for manual lenses has been added, autofocus has appeared when shooting video, video quality has reached Full HD, and the shooting speed has increased by 1.5 fps. Another slot for memory cards has been added; the Nikon D7000 can use more capacious ones SD XC cards. The number of focus points has increased, exposure metering has improved, and a virtual horizon has been added. All in all, D7000 all better for the Nikon D90. Ergonomics and overall functionality are very similar. I do not recommend changing Nikon D90 to D7000.

Nikon D7000 VS Nikon D300, D300s

The D7000 beats the D300s at 6 fps in 14-bit RAW mode versus 2.5 fps in 14-bit RAW mode on the D300s. Also, the D7000 has 1 stop higher ISO sensitivity, better video with autofocus. But the D300s has a more robust body, more focus points (51 versus 39), support CF memory cards, higher burst speed, larger buffer and professional ergonomics. Nikon D300 performance is better for Nikon D7000. I do not recommend changing D300, D300s to Nikon D7000, and vice versa, D7000 to D300s.

Nikon D7000 has a younger brother, the continuation of the line - Nikon D7100.

In general, a review about Nikon D7000 can be written endlessly, the camera is simply full of different functions and settings. There are few photos in this review, since while I was testing and delving into the settings, the battery ran out and the charging was not given to me. Please note that the quality of photos depends very much on the lens and other important things when shooting.

Conclusions:

Nikon D7000 is a great advanced amateur camera. Many indicators excel in the quality of the camera of a professional line. Nikon D7000 will be useful for both amateur and professional. I recommend.

Good day! I want to express my deep gratitude to Arkady for very informative articles and reviews, and also to ask for help. Please tell me which lens with nice bokeh is additionally purchased on the nikon D 7000 for portrait shooting indoors. Already there are whale nikorr 18-105 and tamron SP AF 90 mm F / 2,8 Di. The latter was acquired mainly for macro photography and portraiture on the street. In a room with shooting models, difficulties arise due to the focusing distance. In the future, I am considering switching to a full frame, so I also choose from FX lenses, but AF compatible with my camera is required. Thanks a lot in advance!!!!

    • Pastor

It all depends on the required focal length. You have 18-105 - you can try a lot to figure it out. Starting from the crop 35 1.8, which you hardly need because of the proximity of the transition to ff, but in general it is inexpensive and easy to sell later. This is followed by 50 1.8g or 50 1.4g. Both lenses are good for their price and well worth the purchase. Well, the last option is the 85 1.8g, which will be too long on the crop, and you already have a 90mm lens, so the purchase is not very justified. It turns out that the standard half-toss would be the best choice. And purely offtopic I would like to note that, including on the d7000 indoors, I really like to shoot people with sigma 18-35 1.8. The high aperture and wide angle allow you to shoot when there is a lack of light, and distortions can either be corrected or taken as they are. Sigma will not work on ff either (although you can always switch the ff camera to crop mode for one glass, or find the zoom position without noticeable vignetting.

      • TC

Thank you very much for such a detailed answer !!! I will be determined !!!

good afternoon! I am an amateur with basic skills and some experience, I plan to take Nikon D7000 + 18-105 VR, I still have thoughts about a cheaper camera (D90 or D5100) and buy a better lens - Nikkor 24-120mm 1: 4G ED VR, or again the camera is cheaper, the lens is more expensive: Canon 40D + 24-105 1: 4 L IS USM. Tell me, will the lenses of the 24-105 1: 4 class give an increase in quality in order to save on the carcass? I can't pull the full frame financially.

    • Alexander

I had both D90, and D5100 and D7000. Of all the above, I will advise you exactly D7000 + 18-105mm. I can’t say anything about Canon, I haven’t had anything to do with them.

    • Denis

      why not sigma 17-50 F / 2.8?

    • Pokemon

DD 40D narrow. And on the D7000 there was a very successful x-matrix matrix.
The equivalent of the D7000 can be 77D or 80D.

  • Anastasia

Is it worth changing Nikon D5100 to D7000? Found in a used store from 18-105.
It seems that this will be a little more advanced?

    • Serge

It is necessary to watch the mileage and autofocus on a fast lens. If the mileage is around 20k and autofocus works well, then it's worth changing. Get more flexible controls, slightly better specifications, an excellent viewfinder (you can focus on it with handles) and automatic operation with lenses without a chip (metering).

  • anonym

Yesterday I tried on D300s and D7000 and D7100 (runs about 25000 + -). 300 lies like a glove in my hand, you feel a “thing”, especially with 80-200 microns, I really liked the monochrome display. And these D3s ... as if they were made for a woman's hand or for a Japanese one, but definitely not for a Russian man's. Of course, they have more DD, especially at 7, but they say that due to the lack of a low-pass filter, the matrix is more electrified and pulls more dust, and the Toshiba matrix is not “ah” It is no longer put after 7100. So I don't know what to change my D7200 for?

    Good evening!
I really need the help of professionals! I want to buy the first DSLR, rented on the phone, soap box, like hands from the right place :)))
Tell me, what is better for a start Canon 650D or Nikon D3200 ???
Thank you in advance for your help :)))

    • 1Ds_mk3

      From used Nikon d7000, Canon 60d / 70d.
You can also recall the cheap Sony A77, A57. They are cheap and give a nice color, better than d7000.

      • Olga

        Thanks for the advice! :)

Take a better camera, but with a better lens

      • Olga

So the choice is between the Canon 650D and Nikon D3200. Cameras are "simpler", only Nikon is better than Canon according to DXOMARK ...

  • @stroganov_story

I bought the D7000 without knowing anything about photography, now I take wonderful pictures on it, very pleased with this camera)

  • Amateur

Hello! I want to move from D90 to something next. I selected the D7000 and D300s from everything for the budget and characteristics. Both have approximately the same price tag in our region. Only D300s sell on average with 100k mileage, while D7000s have no more than 50k. Photo in 99% of cases - for yourself. Take a picture of what I want and when I want. The D90 no longer lacks some functions such as adjusting to lenses with problems with AF, metering with lenses without chips, and other joys such as a focusing system, ultra-fast shutter speed, etc. I am not engaged in commercial shooting and do not plan to. I take photos to make me happy. The question is which to buy, D300s or D7000 and why. I will duplicate the comment in the D300s thread.

    • 1Ds_Mk3

Complex issue. The D300s on the picture will not give anything about the D90, the colors from this camera are considered very controversial and the working ISO is slightly lower than that of the D90. But the D300s has an excellent AF module. Another negative point - such cameras are taken for "slaughter" and will not be sorry. This is a working chamber.
D7000 will be more interesting for an amateur. AF is oblique, worse than on the D7000, but the matrix is good here, although here the BB leads to some kind of acid shades. You can just get used to this camera and squeeze a lot. It is now very cheap and there are many cameras with amateur use with minimal mileage.

      • 1Ds_Mk3

The D7000 has a worse module than the D300s. I thought one thing, wrote another.

        • Amateur

I'm leaning more and more towards the D7000 for myself. Still, D300s with 100k + runs are worn outwardly, not the most pleasant for an amateur who nevertheless needs aesthetics, and not the kind of workhorses. Even harder. The autofocus of the D300s is attractive. Does the fact that he has fewer pixels at the metering sensor - does it affect?

          • Alexander

Yes, taking a camera with 100k + mileage is an idea so-so. You can monitor e-Wow, sometimes cameras with very low mileage skip there for sane money (in December I bought a new d300 for 16t.r.), but this time, and the money, from 20-25 somewhere. Perhaps all of you will be better than the d7000, a slightly higher resolution and sensitivity, all the same, matter. On the side of the d300s, there is better autofocus and excellent control, after which you can’t switch to anything else), except on the d500 or immediately on the FF.

            • Valery A.

              FF d600 control, like d7000.

              • anonym

Well, I would not say the controls are similar but not the same in any way, I have both the d7000 and d610 and 5pro the difference is felt.

          • Alexey

I am engaged in photography professionally with 26 years of experience. I use D7000, D200 and D300. What I want to say, all the cameras are very decent, but I use them for different work. I like to shoot portraits (studio shooting) D200 (I like the color very much) D300 and D7000 are more used for outdoor, I like it more in color and autofocus D300. But this is just my opinion (or a habit, I do not impose on anyone). I want to say about the durability of the D300 "ran" 198 thousand photographs (I checked six months ago) Now I think I have exceeded Over the entire period of operation, I only re-glued the elastic bands on the case, having bought them for 200 rubles at Aliexpress. I still recommended you the D950 (of course, the mileage is less than 300 thousand), but this is a professional series device and has its own characteristics, for example there is no fully automatic mode, unlike the D20. Wish you success!

            • anonym

I saw a d300 with a mileage of 750+ thousand on one shutter, a familiar acquaintance, has such

          This is called schizophrenia, especially.

          • Valery A.

Likely to affect, but you will not notice in amateur photography (if you do not shoot the bullfight from the inside). I judge this by comparing d200 with 3xxx, 5xxx.

      • Novel

“But the matrix is good here, although here the WB leads to some acidic shades” - but learn how to shoot in RAW, and finally stop comparing matrices by how the in-camera JPEG algorithms work. How much of this fierce nonsense is possible?

        • Valery A.

Nikon-kmos, CCD, fuji, sigma-faveon ... I'm not sure if it's nonsense. It is not difficult to take off in a rav, here's how to process it?

        • 1Ds_Mk3

I shoot in RAW, my dear. Leave me alone and finally buy other cameras for yourself.
I already wrote that different cameras give different colors in RAW with the same lens (for example Sigma 24-70 / 2.8 EX DG). Conduct an experiment - go for a walk with the D800 and this Sigma, 5DMk2 and this Sigma and 5DMk4 and this Sigma, for interest, you can also take some of the units or D750. And you will be convinced of the correctness of my words. With the same lens, with precisely adjusted exposure, adjusted to each other and at the same aperture and WB Auto - each of the cameras in RAW will shoot differently and display colors in its own way.
RAW D7000 will never be 80D in color. The same is with ff - RAW D800 and 5DMk2 or 5DMk4 or 1Ds will ALWAYS differ in color. Nuances. Buy yourself more cameras and a normal 30-32 inch professional monitor. Just don't say that there is no money for this. It's not my problem. You have time for chatting.

          • 1Ds_Mk3

And then, Roman. No one on the street will push the second half of the PAB to the D800. All are removed from the BB auto. Maximum with some kind of correction.
In the studio - maybe, but it's easier to buy another camera and not fuck your brain why or why.

          • Novel

Each user of your SHYDEVROV too should get a 32-inch professional monitor? Also, be able to compare SHYDEVRES taken from six different cameras to distinguish between COLORS by double-blind tests?

            • 1Ds_Mk3

Roman, let's end this useless conversation.
I just love aesthetics in everything. You do not understand and criticize me, but I do not understand you.
Then, a normal Apple Cinema at 27 or 30 dpi can be found on Avito, in the end, even in good condition.
If there is no money for a modern calibrated 4K with a 10-BIT matrix, I recommend it.

              • anonym

You also offer your customers to buy monitors with a 10-bit matrix, or you provide them with a result on which there are no more than five exposure levels on paper, and it is not important whether you or someone else is esthetic, the customer evaluates the result, and there is nothing to do without the right light.

  • Amateur

As a result, he took the D7000. My instance has floating autofocus. It either hits the target clearly or flies a little further. D90 remained in his hands, he justified once, he hits clearly on target. The D7000 with the same lens (50mm 1.8G) floats straight ahead, then further. Approximately 60% clear, 40% back. And this is only one central point, the rest did not even check.

    • Amateur

The roots of the floating focus became clear. I put the camera on a tripod, focus in LiveView, the self-timer mode is 2 seconds, the click is a great sharp shot. On the carcass, I switch the focus to manual mode, turn off the LV. Without changing focus, distance, lighting, shooting parameters, etc. taking a picture without LV. The result is a blurry image, as if out of focus.
When shooting in LV, the mirror is raised, during normal shooting, the mirror jumps, creates vibrations. I repeated the experiment with the usual shooting mode with a previously raised mirror - the picture is clear as it should be after focusing in LV.
Conclusion: the vibration of the mirror in this instance creates a small stir. Because The camera is heavy and stands securely on a tripod, it is unlikely that he is moving so. Moreover, the same experiment with the D90 did not reveal any problems. Most likely the vibrations on the matrix, I see no other explanation.
Question: Have you ever had such a thing and how did you get rid of it?

      • anonym

Raising the mirror on any body creates micro vibration, which is why they are removed with the preliminary raising of the mirror. It was necessary to take D300s (they go 300k each) or D7100. And the D7000 is now like dirt on the fluoride, and you still have to look for a 300k!

But the vibration is not the same, so that there is general lubrication, a photograph from a tripod. Here the instance is strange, although with an honest 50k mileage (used at home studio). Nearby there is a d7000 with 70k mileage, there are no problems.

        http://www.club-nikon.ru/forum/topic/91161-явный-смаз-на-d7000/page__p__1262520
I have the same device. And the same problem. The master from the Nikon service center said that this is a design defect (factory) of this particular device. In subsequent models 7100 and 7200, it was eliminated. Change (sell) the device. And buy another one.

I confirm, I had the same thing on the D7000. I discussed this problem with Nikon’s leadership (by the way, I had to), they replied that this was a design feature.
On the D7100 (and especially on the D7200) there is no such problem.

    • Amateur

Conducted an experiment on the D7100 - there is a similar lubrication, but not as strong as on the D7k. Now I'm looking for a D7200 for a test.

  • Vladimir

    Good day.
Please tell me whether the equipment is ideal for the first purchase:
“Nikon D700” with “Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 16-85mm 1: 3.5-5.6G ED VR SWM IF Aspherical” lens

    • Arkady Shapoval

Yes, for the first one it’s very good.

    • Osh

A full-frame camera and a lens for a crop are not a good solution.

  • anonym

Good afternoon, please help with choosing a camera:
    1) Nikon D7000 + Nikkor 16-85mm
    or
    2) Canon 50d + Canon 28-80mm

    I want a high-quality carcass, with moisture protection, but I can't decide ...

    • Dmitriy

Nikon D7000 c 16-85 VR definitely. Firstly, the lens is modern, with a stub. It is considered the best crop lens for every day from the budget. Secondly, the Canon 50 is older than the year of development (2008) of the model. Check the 7000 for the correct operation of the AF mileage (determined very easily).

      • anonym

Thank you, the advice is understandable.
        How to check the AF?
(I am not an experienced user)

        • Dmitriy

Take multiple frames in live view and in normal mode, focusing on one subject in single focus mode, and compare frames. Systematic autofocus errors called back and front focus. In the case of back focus, the camera constantly focuses not on the subject being shot, but behind it. In the case of front focus, on the contrary, the camera constantly focuses in front of the subject. Please note that the presence of back and front focus can be said only when the camera makes a mistake with focusing each time in the same direction.

          • anonym

            Thanks for the tip.
But if there is still a problem with AF operation when buying, how critical is it? Is it possible to self-align the camera / lens without attracting the attention of the service center ...?

          • anonym

Thank you Dmitry for paying attention.
But if, after checking the camera, it becomes clear the AF problem, is it difficult to adjust the camera / lens on your own, without attracting the attention of the service center?

            • Michael

A lens for 7000 is possible. If there are problems with the geometry-mechanics of the camera - only sc

            • Valery A.

The d7000 has an accurate AF adjustment, if not a very big miss - adjust yourself.

    • Pokemon

I subscribe to the advice above - D7000.

  • Anton

    Such torment of choice :)

I didn't have a d90, but judging by my communication with a colleague (we are not photographers) - that d90, that d7000 is more than a sufficient solution for an amateur. I took (on the secondary) in 2018, he is in 2016, so he has d90, I have d7000. And the pictures of my colleague with the d90 took places in small competitions of amateur photographers, which confirms this conclusion.

    Sam bought on the secondary d7000, 35k run for 15k rubles. + Tamron 17-50 / 2.8 for 12k.
I gave it to the SC for adjustment and cleaning of both the lens and the camera - another 6k of money (* I gave it not so much because of problems, but to understand the crooked hands in case of an unsuccessful shot :)). Total 33k per set. Bother the SB-400 for 1,5k + 35 / 1,8 for 6,5, not to mention the 500r helios, even by weight. Satisfied with the equipment, the prices and the final result of the images. The prices for the secondary housing, taking into account the number of new models, are a fairy tale, even though DSLRs, even mirrorless. I shoot for myself, but a lot, I never take the camera far away.

What I mean ... take anything and take a PHOTO. I don’t like the camera - I sold it for what I bought it, took another one and ... well, you get the idea :)

  • Dima

Is nikon d7000 autofocus really bad?

    • 1Ds_mk3

He's not so bad. Much depends on the park of lenses and the skill of the photographer. If the lenses are whale dark junk and the photographer does not understand what settings to set in what situation ... well, even 1DX_mk2 or D4s will not be able to help.

    • BB

It depends on what you compare it to.
I was quite satisfied with the D5100 module in terms of accuracy, even in average lighting conditions, there are not enough points (only 11) - yes. I held the D7000 in my hands a couple of times, but I don't think that the module there is worse than on a simpler camera :)

      • anonym

there were both cameras on hand. AF d5100 is more predictable.
d7000 is famous for the fact that AF often lives its own life.

  • Dima

It’s clear about straight arms. It's just that there are a lot of complaints about his work on the forums, so I wanted to ask if this is a myth or a reality? I decided to switch from d3100 to something better: on a used budget d7000 or d300s. Use as a family camera, but also fast-moving children so as not to miss.

  • Dima

But in general, d7000 autofocus will not be worse than the 11-point in previous models?

  • Anton

I use single-point focusing. In the settings I turned on 11 points to choose from, enough for me. In poor light, I focus on the center point with backlight. There is not much marriage in focus. Tracking and car do not use.

  • Dmitriy

Good day! Please advise a good sharp lens for the Nikona D7000 for a reasonable price within 20000 rubles. At the moment, I use the whale 18-105 3,5-5,6 that came with it in the kit.

    • Denis

      sigma 17-50mm 2.8

    • anonym

      Nikon 18-140

    • @ # $

      Sigma 17-50 / 2.8
      Sigma 17-70 / 2.8-4.0
      Sigma 24-70 / 2.8 EX DG
In b / y you can find up to 20 thousand.

    • Valery A.

Tamron 17-50 / 2,8, can be without a stub, used up to 15r.

    • Anton

... if the zoom is not necessary, then look towards the fixes, 35 / 1,8G or 50 / 1,8G. I tried both, stopped at 35 / 1,8. Although in the budget of 20k, you can shove Sigma or Tamron 17-50 / 2,8 + Nikon 50 / 1,8D fix. Such fixes are sold for 4k.

I have a tamron, I don’t like that the focus ring rotates during autofocus, but the sigma seems to be the same. My copy of the control unit had to be carried out for adjustment, as there was an error in focus (this is on the topic of second-hand). Fix can be corrected by autofocus correction.

    • Dmitriy

      Thank you!
      Sigma 17-50 / 2.8
      Sigma 17-70 / 2.8-4.0
      Sigma 24-70 / 2.8 EX DG
If we consider the universal, then from the proposed apparently Sigma 17-70 / 2.8-4.0 is most preferable? Will the difference in photo quality be noticeable or slightly?

      • Dima

Lighter than 18-105 by 2/3 feet, the rest is about the same. Can, in fact, add a light fix 35 1.8 to the dark zoom?

      • Michael

17-50 seems to be more interesting

      • Anton

Only two things are infinite - the universe and human stupidity ©

Is it worth adding laziness to this list, Dima? =) this is radojuva.com
Do not be too lazy to click on the "Lenses" link in the upper right corner and read similar reviews on the selected models (as many as three), compare real pictures (to the question "Will the difference in photo quality be noticeable or insignificant?") Mzht ... or the words of strangers in the comments more convincing?

        • Dima

Apparently, human stupidity does not allow us to understand the meaning of your comment.

  • Alexander

I’ve been using the d2 for 7000 years already. I can say that the quality of the camera is already not enough.
The biggest complaint is noise. If you take the picture a little closer, the picture seems to be written from a bunch of small dots that are noticeable. And this is already evident at ISO 200. I played with different lightroom settings and there are different lenses. Therefore, I want to go to the full frame. To get started, buy a d700 /

    • Vitaly N

Try DxO Photolab, the noise reduction is good there. If you look closely, then all cameras have noise. As someone said, "ISO is only one - minimal, the rest is noise."

    • anonym

Why look at the pixels under a magnifying glass?
Immediately compose the frame so as not to sprinkle later with noise.
Pictures need to be printed, there will be no noise there.

    • Michael

And it will be the same as on d7000, just a little later)

    • BB

d700 - old camera, if you want noticeably less noise - take FF of the same period, or newer than your d7000. Using the d5100, I can say that iso1600 is practically the ceiling, with tolerable noise, up to 1000, so I used it freely.

    • SashOK

      At 7000m noise, with ISO200 ?????

Well this is what a super pro should be like, so that the quality of 7000 is not enough, and at the same time manages to find noise on ISO200.
In general, there are such “fatographers” to whom give D5, and they will take pictures of the crap and say: “Bad camera, you need to switch to a large format. First, I'll buy a used Hassel ... "
No offense, but in my opinion the author of a question from such.

      • Arkady Shapoval

No, there are situations when you can clearly see noise on the ISO 200. The easiest way to do this is with super-populated ADL, the strongest level of sharpness (+9) in shadows and at slow shutter speeds. The same goes for the rest of the cameras.
No need to go far here is my shot yesterday with Sony NEX-3N on ISO 200 (a sensor like the d7000), it is clearly seen how DRO LEVEL 5 (analogue of ADL), coupled with enhanced sharpness, created a bunch of noise. The image is original, without any intervention.

  • Vladimir

Good afternoon, Anatoly, I ask you for advice, I’m trying to take a device at a level higher than d50)), taking into account d200, d300, d7000, d90 (from affordability).
Please advise what is better to take if the priority is to meter exposure through any glass, shooting at night, high-speed sync with flash. Video - not critical, screwdriver - critical))
    Thank you in advance)

    • Michael

7000, or 300, if you like

    • anonym

The D90 is not very bad, in good light I prefer it instead of the D7000, but if you need to raise the ISO, then the D7000 will give the D90 a head start. Plus, the D7000 has exposure metering and confirmation of focusing on manual lenses, 1/8000 shutter speed and viewfinder are better. But once again, I like the picture with d90 more. IMHO.

    • anonym

More about the D7000. It is necessary to check the operation of autofocus. There was a party with an unfocused focus point and an autofocus system. It is treated, but you need straight arms and at least some skills in the repair of equipment. It is checked quite simply, on a white sheet, draw a black dot and try to focus on it by moving the camera vertically. Stable focus should be when the point is within the focus rectangle in the viewfinder. If the focus point is down, the camera focuses either lower or higher (the dot on the paper comes up or down). Well, the focus should be accurate without any autofocus corrections (the lens must be obviously accurate).

Hello I want to buy a nikon d7000 but the store says that it is made in china. What is it so? thanks

    • Vitaly N

HZ. My 7100 is from Thailand, maybe there is a factory in China. Do not fall for the Polo D7000. It's generally hard to call a camera.

      • BB

Already have 7000? Seen only Polo D3000

        • Vitaly N

D7200 has already been “released”. It's hard to change stickers :) http://ali.pub/4146k8

          • anonym

By your snare you can see for sure that this is not Nikon. thanks for the info

            • Vitaly N

But the people are led and buy for such a price. Take a look at the sticker below. If it's going to be written in China, why not. But if it says something else, and the seller says from China, then think about it - either gray, or something else. And check that it is not for the Japanese market - they only have Japanese and English. And what kind of store is this? They were taken out of production a long time ago.

  • anonym

Please tell me how to treat with polo d7000 if so? thanks

    • Arkady Shapoval

      They are completely different.

  • anonym

    Internet shop horoshij.com.ua
I read about the nikon d3200 and on advertising came out on it, but looked and found this d7000 nikon camera

  • Alina

Good day! Please tell me, I want to change the d7000 to a full frame.
I’m considering used equipment, d700, go d3, maybe tell me something about them? or are there any other options?
in d7000 the speed of serial shooting began to be missed, he thinks for a long time after 6 frames.
and iso above 1250 hardly fix the noise.

    • Oleg

Finding these cameras in good condition is very, very difficult. Save money better and take the D610

  • Pokemon

D3, D700 and D3s in good condition can be found with the Japanese on ebay and with difficulty on Avito. There are a lot of scammers on Avito, and they offered run-twisting services for all Nikona crop released before D7100 (crop) and up to D3s inclusive on the FF. I join the recommendation to look at d610 / 750.

  • Eugene

Please tell me which of the released Nikon SLR cameras provide the ability to display the future photo before finally pressing the "shutter" button, and if necessary, adjust the exposure in parallel with the wheels. And so that the displayed image visually changes on the LCD when the control wheels are rotated.

    • Arkady Shapoval

All equipped with Live View, i.e. absolutely everything released since 2010 and some until 2010.
And you do not need to cross-post your question on many branches.

  • Anna

Good afternoon! Tell me, how will the 18-70 f3.5-4.5 lens on the d7000 behave?

    • KalekseyG

Like a scumbag. Squishy, sweat money, life breaks and flees.

    • Vladimir

Behaves well. For travel, so as not to worry too much about him and at the same time get a decent picture, what you need.
