Photos from a trip along the Black River

This year I was carried on a hike along the Black River. On a hike, I had a minimal set - Nikon D40 and Helios-81, which I took guided by thoughts from my article - how to take pictures on a hike... All 10 days I shot with a manual lens and the simplest D40 - look what happened. The experiment confirmed the idea that it doesn't matter what you photograph - important how to take pictures.

It turned out another funny thing, that in a trip it would be nice to have a macro lens to shoot various kinds of insects. Well, photosets with people on the Black River can be seen in my gallery Photosets in Crimea

  • Motes in flight are a cool thing, but in general, as always, colorful, lively and Crimean beautiful)

  • And you have beautifully beautiful butterflies and a lizard)

    AWESOME PICTURES !!!!

Very beautiful pictures of nature. Especially where you added - “View of water in the Black River” - a super photo!

  • Photos "RAW", apparently, "as God sent" from a digital camera. And this is ALWAYS a SEMI-FINISHED PRODUCT.

It would be nice to add a little detail and specifics. Also, it’s quite interesting that for you personally it’s not a semi-finished product. Waiting for an extended response.

      • It is not easy to answer this question (IT IS HIM FROM YOU!). The fact that the image obtained directly from a scanner or a digit (I sometimes take from his son-in-law CANON EOS 350) is just a SEMI-FINISHED product, it is easy to make sure by entering ANY EDITOR with it (at least the same PICASA). Further - a matter of taste, imagination and talent of the author. GENERAL RECIPES CANNOT BE ANXIOUS. Again, "... everyone has their share and their own way is wide ..."

This is a perfectly logical question. But unfortunately, whether you have little experience with Helios-81n in digital, or simply similar images have become familiar on the Internet, I can assure you that there is practically no image here without revision. On the one hand, this is a defect of the photographer, on the other hand, the technique. Or do you think that this kind of contrasting image is the direct work of the lens, or that the D40 can pull out such a DD for a photo “When leaving Chernorechye. Mountain View". I have a “semi-finished product” (unloaded from RAW files) only in technical reviews, where software interventions can distort the essence of the lens or camera, as in your case with the modification of the veil from the backlight to the soap dish.
All markers are different in taste and color.

          • Yes, on numbers I worked only with “whales”.

IMHO: Processing - for those who have crooked hands. So, if you don't know how to take a picture, a computer will come to the rescue. It should be a shame! Well, at the expense of criticism. Actually it is not, everything turned out well, the penultimate one was the most pleasant! And everything else ... .. at. At. I understood what the photographer wanted to show. I've had enough.

A counterexample is to complete and print a photobook without processing the original material.

Arkady, how did you manage to catch the moths in focus in flight?
