For practical use, focusing type RF is no different from focusing type IF ('Iinternal Focus' - 'Inner Focus'). With this lens, you can easily use any filters, for example, polarizing.
The minimum focusing distance is only 30 cm, while you can shoot Macro with 1: 6.3 magnification... The Nikon 35mm f / 1.8G DX has neither a window with a distance scale, nor a depth of field scale, nor a mark for working in the infrared spectrum. In manual focusing mode, the ring rotates approximately 90 degrees, when reaching the extreme positions, it does not rest against it, but continues to slide without affecting focusing. Chromatic aberrations (HA) are highly visible until F / 3.2. The purple halo (Purple fringing), which is difficult to remove even when shooting in RAW and post-processing. Hello, I purchased this lens three days ago. My first fix, before that I used only the whale zoom 18-55, so I was expecting something special ... but this did not happen ((The picture is soapy compared to the whale even at 5,0 aperture. For example, I give two photos:

2. AF-S NIKKOR 35 mm 1: 1.8G
Both photos are converted from Raw with the same default settings from Adobe Camera Raw, 100% crop, shutter speed 1 / 1,3, aperture 5,0, ISO 100, focal length 35 mm for both lenses, in both cases a tripod was used, the delay was 2s and preliminary lift of the mirror (the image stabilizer in the whale was disabled).
Now I don’t know what to think. Maybe the lens is defective or is there nothing criminal in these photos? Then where is the vaunted sharpness of fix?

As for me, both photos have no focus. Maybe it's in the camera. The difference in sharpness of zoom and fix is noticed only by an experienced photographer, and even then not in every photo. Fix take as a portrait or wide-angle, also for greater aperture to shoot in low light. Fixes are not bought for sharpening. If the whale had a problem with sharpness, then the problem is not in the lens.
This is your weak carcass. I also set this glass to 5100 and only 2 out of 20 shots caught focus. In the Photo-Parts workshop in Nikolaev, after “shooting” at the target, I was advised to change the carcass. They didn't take money. I bought 7000 and aptly beat 10 out of 10. The lens is cool. After some analysis of my focusing preferences, I realized that I really need a short crop fix. The strips are still too long for everyday shooting. And then naturally 35 / 1,8 was drawn as a leader in terms of price / quality. But damn it. Looking at the pictures from him, jitters begin to beat. Everyone talks about its wonderful sharpness, but nobody mentions the nature of this sharpness. And the character is exactly the same as that of whales - an apparent sharpness. Everything seems to be ringing, but there are no details, and the tone transitions are all in the mud!
The feeling is that on cheap plastic lenses, microcontrast is simply overstated, they achieve a sharp picture. On the same helix, if you get the focus, then the sharpness is obtained precisely from the clarity and purity, but if the focus is slightly shifted, then with a photoshop increase in micro-contrast you can get something similar to this plastic sharpness.
Another example: the ancient nickor 35-105 gives a picture that seems to be blurry in appearance, but if you look closely, it’s designed for every small detail that has got into focus, and you can safely add sharpe.

It seems that on the d3200 in the viewfinder there is only one color of the focusing points illumination - red. If the lens works normally on one focus point, it means just unnecessary fears. The rest is not scary.
